Kylie's Skating Rink 1318 Cornwell St, Shelby, NC. The skating rink. The floor appears to be aged about 30 to 50 years or so. So, was it Starlite before Kate's? Good question. Photo was altered to remove a teen skater for her own safety reason. Courtesy and © copyrighted by Rink-History©.
Kate's Skating Rink 1318 Cornwell St, Shelby, NC
Starlite Roller Rink 1318 Cornwell St, Shelby, NC
Kylie's Skating Rink 1318 Cornwell St, Shelby, NC
There were three rink names,... so far. Kate's Skating Rink which might have been first at that location followed by Starlite Roller Rink then now, Kylie's Skating Rink. I could be wrong at that chronolectal order. Eventually will find out.
Kate's Skating rinks was a chain and they had this rink in Shelby opened in 1998 according to Rink Time website. Or 1999 by Bill Grice. Likely John and Kate's son operated that rink according to Dun and Bradstreet.
It is like a piece of puzzle here with all websites. One piece per page. One another proof that it was Kylie's was in 2017 in a website called WhoDoYou. However, that was in comment section. The main title of that profile was Kate's Skating Rink. so, they closed sometimes between 1998 and 2017. I need to go further!
Anyone have more information on all of them, please let me know by emailing at Rink-History©. Thank you.

Kate's Skating Rink: N/A.
Starlite Roller Rink: N/A.
Kylie's Skating Rink: This rink appearance has mostly 2010s Bold Colors and dark open ceiling showing trusses and beams. It has Maroon bottom half wall with Black half top wall. One photo showed that.
The eating area and arcade had those Halloween set of colors of Lime Green, Orange, Violet, and Purple. In that order from Top to bottom. It may have been that color around the rink but looks Maroon on the rink wall. Not sure. Too similar colors. Noticed too few games.
On one back wall showed a mural and I could not make of what that was according to that bottom photo seen above.
The floor is clear coated Polyurethane Hardwood Maple floor. Layout is FAN.
The Exterior.
Kate's Skating Rink: It had Kate's trademarked Forest Green siding. Gabled Roof with Stone Veneer Wall front near the front door but the rest had Steel Walled making it does look like a warehouse but it was a roller rink!
Starlite Roller Rink: I do not know what the appearance was like such as color, any differences. Likely the walls were the same as Kate's and for sure it was but the siding above is unknown.
Kylie's Skating Rink: Currently, it has Royal Blue siding instead of that Kate's trademarked Forest Green siding. The rest remains the same as it was Kate's.

Dead Rinks is now International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© because many former names have become new names at the same rinks that are still active and due to much confusion, We have decided that International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© fits better for all rinks including defunct, closed, inactive, rebooted, and rinks that are still active today. For short on this site, it is International Roller Skating Rinks History© Bear with us as we change the entire site page by page each day. Thank you for understanding.
Second of all: The contents including words and photos above on this page and/or on any pages are purely educational entertainment purposes only. I provide what information from other websites, skaters, and operators and it may end up with different results between two (or more) sources. It is not our responsible for errors we caused. All sources are shown on each page. All opinions and statements of mine are also stated and are for purely educational entertainment only.
Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former. Since we are rebooted to allow alive rinks, active rinks, we welcome those active rinks as well. It will be described.
As for “For Office Only” is for my reasoning and private legal reason for that.
