Kargs Roller Arena 524 Guthrie Street, Upper Sandusky, OH. A 1959 aerial photo of the rink that was not attached to the building on the left. It was a free-standing building (the big one with dark roof on the right). Yes, you are seeing a tractor trailer parked to load/unload right between a tight spot where the rink is and that business. That area has changed a lot and now appeared to be joined together. Source: USGS.

Kargs Roller Arena 524 Guthrie Street, Upper Sandusky, OH. Wow, an ashtray! Very Art Deco design which made perfect for this because the stripes in Art Deco were common and used as doubles.. the cigarettes holders. It can hold six butts. Three per set awfully close! Yes, unfortunately, roller rinks did allow smoking at the time. I know what you are thinking. Skating is healthy sport and allowed smoking? Perhaps they did not know the danger at the time. Hey, they even had women smoking and drinking while pregnant and had asbestos in your home and buildings.. lead in gas and paint.. Those were the days. Kargs Roller Arena was a roller rink on 524 Guthrie Street in Upper Sandusky, Ohio. They had a Segmental Arch building with a faux roofline front. Pretty common of its era to have that design. It sits real close to the road that you just pull in a parking lot slot and you are there! No need to park in a parking lot. Perhaps they had a parking lot on the left of the building because they looked newer.
I could not find any real estate information or public records. This one I really need a lot of information! You will see many "N/A"-- Not available or Not Applicable". Really need your help here!
The ashtray really was unique. Ebay seller said it was brand new still in the box. Apparently must be when the rink was going out of business, it was sold in an auction and usually collectors go to auctions and got it like that. And never use it for historical purposes and value when they resell them. Smart!
The Interior.
From my observation in the Google Map with vehicles parked in front in 2014 version (only 2015 is shown because it is better light balance and without cars obstructing the view). The building was small. Common back in 1920s to 1940s that they were in competition with Quonset Hut style buildings. The rink itself was small clearly from what I can see on the outside. Material on the floor is unknown.
The Exterior.
Again, small in design to compete against Quonset Hut buildings. This was a Segmental Arch with full vertical walls around. They were designed to provide more room inside.
The front wall had a fake roof line design. A step roof style. But actual roof was Segmental Arch.
