All courtesy of Google Map. From top to bottom. May 2008 (terrible picture) you can see the sign and the sign on the wall. April 2013 then October 2013, sign on wall is gone, then taken again in January 2017 and finally in Sept 2018 showing the new sign returned back on the wall above the doors. There is a January 2019 but the driver was stupid to take pictures when it was sunset causing glare in the picture plus a huge school bus blocking the whole front! So, that one is out.
Courtesy of Fun Galaxy. All current look ever since Skate Galaxy began in 2003. Well, there is no photos for Joel's Roller Rink yet.

First came was Joel's Roller Rink and I do not have any information regarding with that but in 2003, it became Skate Galaxy which eventually changed name to Fun Galaxy to broaden their purpose as a multi-entertainment center rather than just roller skating.
Fun Galaxy is currently operating and is going under renovations for a new carpet in 2020. They had their fans to vote which carpet. I personally like the galaxy appearance because it actually goes with their name but fans seemly to choose much busier design that I do not like. There are other designs I like but they are not popular. Smart of Fun Galaxy because the one I choose has 15 votes and others has high as 65 and 50 for 2 other designs.
I would love to see they do renovation that matches the name. It does go hand to hand. Like the infamous snafu that Coke-Cola did with the New Coke back in 1980s. Or how about Ford Edsel? Or how about Sony Betamax? Remember all those three you heard about? I am sure Al Bundy still love his Betamax even this is the DVD/Blue-Ray era or even streaming now.
No offense here. But if that is what fans wanted, let them. smart marketing move they did in March 2020 when the US Government ordered everything closed due to the COVID-19 shutdown. It was smart time to renovation as I can see some current rinks did during the shut down.
I am sure it will look awesome for their rink.
Historically, Joel's was around before 2003 but I have no idea when they began and why sold or whatever.
Likely Skate Galaxy owners changed name to Fun Galaxy.
I looked through the Fun Galaxy's album on Facebook and some I felt a little freaky about this. I am saying that I feel some things are making me feel uneasy and even one of the skaters even said the same thing about one of the pictures.
OK, there are a lot of pictures but if you go through going backward. There is a female with skimmish clothing on and the way she was posting and the way the photographer did take picture of a girl. More likely underage girl and the way it was. No wonder I agree with this fan saying it is freaky photo and even asked whoever posted to remove it. They never did and that was more than 5 years ago! There are three more girls dressed provoking like that in another picture and they took it and posted it too. I think it was Halloween but I am not sure and the way those three. It should be removed. I am a Critic and Historian so I do want I want to say on here that I am anti-adult activities online (even offline) and anti-child abuses.
The Interior.
The interior has a nice sized rink with eating area in front with snack bar and rental along with admission. On the side, games and more rest area. The floor is Dark Gray Concrete, polyurethane coated, with center in Green color. The carpet is Red color and appeared aged. This is why they were going to get some new carpet. The other thing is the eating area has something very different kind of seating. Benches that has high walls. Truly divided unlike you see at say.. a fast food restaurant would have for seating.
The rink is comfortable area. Right now they are doing more toward fun or bounce houses. That disappoints me and other skaters when the skaters want to skate.
The Exterior.
This building featured Box-Gabled Roof with appearance of long hang design. It is a Free-Span Steel Truss Building with Red Brick Brick-veneer on the wall and Forest Green Steel Walled for Box Gable. Twice the sign was up. But it was taken down and then few years later, it came back. They need to make up their minds. Ha. It does look better without it although I feel needs to have it.
It is low pitch Box Gable.
