Jimmy's Skating Center, 5260 S US Highway 301, Bushnell, FL
Jimmy's Country Place, 5260 S. US Highway 301, Bushnell, FL
This rink was established on March 4th, 1981. Coincidently, today I am writing this profile on Jimmy's on March 4th, 2019! That would have been 38th Anniversary. Happy Anniversary today, Jimmy's Skating Center!
It was a riot finding that out on Intercreditreport.com about this rink. It was established in 1981 by Woodrow and Bertha M. Parsons. Then tthey closed under the banner, Jimmy's Skating Center on September 16, 2005 then L. Carol purchased the rink and slightly changed the name to Jimmy's Country Place. Then L. Carol closed the rink in unknown date.
The rink which was located south of the center of Bushnell. It had a modern looking steel sheet warehouse like with steel beams. Gabled roof. It had that country feel frontage of the building with a porch that you just step up one or two steps and that was it. They ran out of business in
I have no photos of the interior of the rink. Unfortunately, I am unable to determined what it was like. It looked small rink by the look of the photo as Hope Ministries, a Christian thrift store. Looks like in 2010s that this occurred that it becomes a facility for Hope Ministries.
And I have no information about that ministry purchasing the former rink either.
If you are local or even tourists visiting Bushnell, FL, please do stop by at the Hope Ministries thrift store and support this ministry. Your money goes a long way for God. Amen.
