Courtesy of Loop Net. Noticed it is the floor plan but whoever did this rendering did some error. noticed the Skate Rental section in the rendering showed straight wall but the actual wall is curved as you saw in the photo above. the curve wall match to the 1/2 wall on the rink as you can see in the simple drafting drawing. I love the interior design. But the pro shop was kind of hidden in that corner. A pro shop is considered one of the most important income generator to get sales from skaters. The drawing is not accurate anyway. it is the same as gift shop there which is not shown on the drawing.

Jellybeans Super Skate Center 1120 Buck Jones Rd. Raleigh, NC
Jellybeans Super Skate Center was a roller rink 1120 Buck Jones Road. Raleigh, North Carolina that ran as a family owned roller skating rink. It was opened in 1995.
In 1993, they were closed for a while for overall renovations including sanding and refinish the rink floor. New carpet and counter tops, new themes, totaled renovated bathroom with full stall doors. Also new lockers and benches were added. Some new lightings as well. This renovation truly brought up to date the style that it was not like an 80s look rink. It is one of the best redesigned appearance I ever seen.
They would be award winning with this cleanness look, minimalist appearance, showing Carolina colors, and more.
I commented on their Facebook page regarding their announcement that they are closing however, that post is missing few minutes later! Quite odd! Did they change their mind or needed to change date or something? I was reviewing their posts then came back to find it gone and I was going to capture that for here! But no worries. I have a different one anyway. And that is my evidence of them closing for good.
The Interior.
The interior was one of the best design I ever seen. Very unique look. They renovated in 2013. However, I do not see any photos of previous appearance before the renovation. Well, sticking with the 2013 appearance- they had true Minimalist feel to it with Modernism. It is a fusion of both actually. But very clean lines and curves. In fact, at where the skate rental area, they have a curved wall and the lockers on the wall were quite modern in appearance. It does not go all the way to the floor. Just height-challenged to the lockers. And the colors. Mostly are Carolina Blue and White which reminded skaters of their local colleges/university with those colors.
The lights on both the rink floor and especially in the eating and games areas were so unique. It has that modern design of neon lights on the ceilings in circles and in lines. Truly making it very modern look. And very bright. It gave that night club feel at the rink.
The eating area even have a bar counter with stools. No, it is not a bar per se. It does make you think it was but when standing on other side, its just a wall and dinettes.
The Exterior.
It is a very modern building looking lot like a convention center. Beautiful modern Red-Brick bricks building with a brick canopy for driving through. It was designed and built by Bobbitt Design Build in 1996. I love the exterior design which showed real class. The rink did appear very high class even with landscaping and good pavement as well. The building is in a development with other businesses in immediate area as a collection. I would call that Brick-Town similar you would find at say, Rochester Institute of Technology or RIT that every building has that design with that brick. All collective.
