Interskate, 131 Guy Road, Clayton, NC
This was a roller rink but also they had other entertainment venues in that place such as meetings/church (see photos), and other activities. It was very mature looking facility especially interior because it really different than standard rinks according to photographs on Loopnet.
This rink traded quads for two-wheeled vehicles.
It was showing a biker church! An American flag on the wall, has plagues, things of sort like that were on the wall by the rink. It was very different. I appeared to look more like a veterans meeting place (VFW, etc).
Yes, the seating were arranged for the bikers' church, Freedom Biker Church. Very interesting. Zoom Zoom!
Originally as Interskate Family Fun Center but I have no information regarding to the rink business or photographs of it as a rink before it became a church.
It was standard Flat roof industrial-like warehouse building. All Blue on the outside with Navy Blue and White interior. It has carpetiles on the floor.
It looked like it operated in 20th Century and 2000's before 2010s because on one site, it showed ratings for that rink as late as 2007. It may have been folded around that time.
The size of the building was huge. 22,500 SF but the church only needed 3,000 SF with the rest as empty.
Someone said on the same site that there were so many children skated at the rink. Apparently it was geared for young children. After it went out of business, the church bought it and made it more mature interior to become a church for Christians to fellowship with the LORD Jesus Christ.
