Courtesy of Google Map. Both dated May 2015.
Courtesy of Interskate Skating Center / Facebook page. All three were at the rink taken in 2014. In one of the difficult photo I saw how many kids sitting around do nothing and a very few skating on the rink! It is not shown here. You can see the rest in Facebook. There are 23 photos shown likely same night.
Courtesy Google Map. As of May 2019. This is now a beautiful exterior store with new pavement, landscaping, and new entrance framing design. They enchanted the appearance to look more professional. Only remains the same is the trim by the roofline. It is irony that the new light store name is "Inline" which also refer to inline skates. Haha. They are referring to the wires for the light.

Originally Athens Family Skate Center was located on 813 U.S. Highway 72 in Athens, Alabama which eventually replaced by Interskate Skating Center.
First, Athens Family Skate Center opened in the year 1985 and closed in 1999 which immediately reopened as Interskate Skating Center. Eventually closed in none other than 2015. Whoa. Wait a minute. 1985 when McFly went to the past then returned home but then Doc brought McFly and his girlfriend to the year 2015. Talk about timing! Haha.
That is too bad they did not continue as a rink. But they have very much alive Facebook page. Well, not exactly. They posted before they closed and perhaps cleaned up and kept the photos on there. I wish they had better pictures. Oh man.
According to Manta, it said that it was established in 1985 when it first opened as Athens Family Skate Center but the Manta did say it was Interskate. I believe it was under same management. Just rink name changed. Unfortunately at this time, I cannot vet this verification. Once source said it was Keith Walsh operated as owner of Interskate. Likely same person because of Manta for the Athens Family Skate Center.
The Interior.
The rink had wooden floor. Of course, Maple floor and was in Clear Polyurethane Coat. They also had traditional starburst light with diamond ball. In addition, they had popular light rings above the rink.
The Exterior.
Free-Span Steel Truss Cinderblock Walled Warehouse Building. It was very basic design as you can see in the picture. No creativity, very plain White Blocks walls with Light Gray trim on roofline. The doors really dwarf themselves compared to the building. The Inline Lighting Store really outdid themselves with renovations.
