Inline Skate Center of Knoxville 6541 Chapman Hwy, Knoxville, TN
The Name, Inline Skate Center of Knoxville which was at 6541 Chapman Highway in Knoxville, Tennessee was just a name for the store, not a roller rink because of the size of the place. It was a skate store selling roller skates, inline skates, skateboard, and related sports.
Many of you would thought this was a rink. Not. The photographs will show you why it was not a rink. Store. It appeared it went out of business in around 2015. I am aware the name can really trick skaters thinking this was a skating rink but it was a pro-shop.
it was first opened in 1993 according to Manta. Manta clearly stated that this was a retail store.
The building and property were sold on August 16, 2016.
The Interior.
N/A.
The Exterior.
Exterior apparently needed a lot of TLC. It appeared to be an old built. A run down corner mini-market store-like building that was something else or a few of businesses before the final business-- the Inline Skate Center of Knoxville. It was painted White but was laced with graffiti all over. Grass was growing through old parking lot apparently. It appeared to be built between 1900s and 1930s.
The Stats:
Rink Size: N/A. Floor: N/A. Floor Layout: N/A.
Building Size: 4500 SF. Built: N/A. Demolished: c.2016/7 due to need of repairs.
Type of Building: Old run down Cinderblock-built corner mini market store - like Building. Needed repairs.
Roof: Salt Box (slant downward toward rear).
Acres: 0.52 Acre.
Operated: (Overall)-- 1993 to c. 2015.
Reason for Closure: Perhaps financial reasons. (Every Google map pictures tells a story, almost no cars except owner owns a (based on 2007 model colors) Yellow Hummer that was pictured often in each Google Map photo taken.
Wanted: Information regarding exact dates of open/closed, why closed, size of rink, rink materials. Also photos. Anyone knows or have photos, please let me know by emailing at [email protected]. Thank you.
