Indiana Skating Center 2131 Shelly Dr., Indiana, PA. See the sign that says Bell Supply Company? That was where the rink was. I could not get any closer to this view because Google mapper did not drive down further on that road. Source: Google 2019.
Indiana Skating Center 2131 Shelly Dr., Indiana, PA. This was a hard photo to find. It had Maple wood floor, with 2 shades of greens. Appeared to be popluar Miami Art Deco Green or Everglades Green on the floor with Island Green on the wall and Deer Path Tan in middle section on the wall plus a lighter hue called Beige. Indiana Skating Center 2131 Shelly Dr., Indiana, PA
This rink with an interesting name, Indiana Skating Center which was held at 2131 Shelly Drive Indiana, Pennsylvania. They even had a poster featuring a singer named Linda Ronstadt on the wall. It was like a time warp with that poster according to a Yelper on Yelp website.
This roller rink that was first operated in 1978 according to two sources. They closed in 2010. That means 32 years of operations.
It said to be George Bell who owned and operated the rink (Homemetry) but I am not sure if that is correct because the current business in operations is Bell Supply Company according to Google Map.
I found in Billboard that it said to be S.D. McFarland who owned and operated this rink.
That location was ideal because it was behind the Ben Franklin Elementary School.
It was Bell Supply Company at that location but the building was sold on 20 October 2020. I do not know what it is there now. The building was sold for 600,000 USD according to Zillow but it did say it was built in 1990. I believe it was renovation year. Real estate websites or realtors usually would put the date of most recent event of the building, Either it was built or renovated. Likely renovated.
The Interior.
It had Hardwood Maple floor, with 2 shades of greens. Appeared to be then popular Miami Art Deco Green or Everglades Green on the floor with Island Green on the wall and Deer Path Tan in middle section on the wall plus a lighter hue called Beige. Most of those were popular 1980s colors.
The Exterior.
It is a Free-Span Steel Trusses Steel - Walled Warehouse - like Building with Gabled Roof.
The Stats:
Rink Size: N/A. (Appeared to be almost NHL sized.)
Floor: Non-painted Clear coated Polyurethane type Maple.
Floor Layout: N/A (hard to see in photo).
Building Size: 17,968 SF. Built: 1978 Renovations: 1990. Demolished: Still standing.
Type of Building: Free-Span Steel Trusses Steel - Walled Warehouse - like Building.
Roof: Gabled.
Acres: 1.6500 AC.
Organ: N/A.
Operated: (Overall)-- 1978 to 2010.

Dead Rinks is now International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© because many former names have become new names at the same rinks that are still active and due to much confusion, We have decided that International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© fits better for all rinks including defunct, closed, inactive, rebooted, and rinks that are still active today. For short on this site, it is International Roller Skating Rinks History© Bear with us as we change the entire site page by page each day. Thank you for understanding.
Second of all: The contents including words and photos above on this page and/or on any pages are purely educational entertainment purposes only. Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former. Since we are rebooted to allow alive rinks, active rinks, we welcome those active rinks as well. It will be described.
As for “For Office Only” is for my reasoning and private legal reason for that.
