Hollywood Skates, 125 Grand Avenue, Fallon, NV
Uncle Bruce's Skate-Way 50, 125 Grand Avenue, Fallon, NV
This is not Hollywood, CA, instead, this rink was in Fallon, NV according to Loopnet. This rink closed not too long ago. They closed in 2018. Originally, it was Uncle Bruce's Skate-way 50. According to the defunct website for Hollywood Skates which I captured on search, it said it was Uncle Bruce's and said the building was built in 1980. Original color was unknown for Uncle Bruce's.
Hollywood Skates had standard gable aluminum building with Purple and Violet colors in commercial area in Fallon. It had a name on there but it is not clear on the photo from Loopnet. However, Google Map provided better picture but it was all painted in nicer colors of Salmon and Light Coffee colors. With a sign saying "Roller Skating" laying against the wall on the ground. This was taken in August 2016. Must be it was the after photo of the purple colored building.
On its Facebook, they made an announcement that it was closed first on November 2, 2018 due to family emergency then permanently closed on November 13th, 2018. This forced closure for good. It is currently for sale as of February 2019. Financial reason was the main cause.
The owner was very interactive with skaters on Facebook page. I wish nothing but the best. I pray they can reopen. For now, since they have closed up for more than 3 months, it qualifies to be on this site. If they reopens, It will be still here with updates.
They are considering GoFundMe to raise capital. However, it was further back to August 17, 2018 that they had to put up for sale. Apparently this was for sale for a while while the rink remained opened for another 3 months.
I do not have interior of the rink except for a video on Facebook. It shows that they had poured concrete floor. Its white and its a small rink. It does show cuteness both exterior and interior. It is very bright inside because of hot Nevada and cold nights. (it snowed first time in Las Vegas on Feb 21, 2019!)
I sure do wish to buy this rink but I do not have the money to make such purchase. I am poor! I am not even making money from this site, let you know that.
