Hockeyworld Indoor Sports Center 6854 Spring Valley Dr, Holland, OH
Hockeyworld Indoor Sports Center 6854 Spring Valley Drive, Holland, Ohio. This rink seemly to focus on Roller Hockey as the main sports. Nothing indicate that it is roller rink or even ice rink. I include this just in case.
It was built in 1978 so I believe that was when it was first open as a rink. It made sense because the school is directly behind the property of the former rink. Right by the large track and field and ball field are located as seen in aerial photos.
It was apparently sold in auction when they put it up on 04 August 2010 after they must have attempted to sell the building. It was at the ending of the Great Recession that likely no one wanted to purchase the building. US economy at the time really Swiss cheesed and further more at the Great Lockdown Depression of 2020-2021.
Google map showed 2007 with the name of the place as The Marketing Toolbox however, it was up for lease then auction in 2010 and the name remains to 2018 on Google Map. Did it get sold? Looks like no one is really using the facility and a flat trailer is parked on the parking lot. Different years showed the exact same gray vehicle parked in exact same spot. And one was with the blue station wagon parked there. It does appeared mysterious with this building. Did the auction failed? What was going on?
Apparently the rink must have closed longer before 2007 Google Map trip around the world. Anyone?
The Interior.
N/A.
The Exterior.
The exterior may have been renovated heavily into a commercial building for a business, not entertainment. I do not know what the original look but it looked very clean design. Very 1980s look. The rink itself may not have lasted very long considering the exterior design. It looked too conservative for a roller rink. Although I love the 1980s look with Ribbed Cinderblocks and the Aluminum or Steel Walled front section. It even has a raised angled garden to the left of the front door. Nothing much to show though.
