This is only known photograph so far shown of the old Hide-A-Way Skating rink in Natchez, practically next block from the old Armstrong Tire Plant where they made tires. Photo: USGS.
Taken in 2014 location of the former rink. Part of it was on this off road mini trail and the grass field. The Armstrong Tire Plant was just merely beyond this property as you can see in the photo (see beyond the parked vehicles) and it is partial hidden because of the trees. Many places in this neighborhood block demolished especially the rink and buildings to the right of this photo. The houses remained on the left (not seen in photo). Courtesy: Google Map, 2014.
Both are stickers. Noticed they both even have word Chicago as the brand of skates they used for rental and for skaters to purchase in their pro-shop. Both mentioned near the plant. It was practically right cross the street from the former Armstrong Tire Plant. The plant is now in Thailand. Source: eBay.
Hide A Way Skating Rink 212 Fisk Ave, Natchez, MS
Hide A Way Skating Rink was in Natchez, Mississippi but the street is unknown. However, it did say it is near Armstrong Tire Plant.
Not much known about the rink. Just that when I was researching on another Mississippi roller rink, I found one of the decal that was on eBay (already sold) and I found another one with the barrel one.
The building I could not see well on an old B/W photograph from USGS taken in 1956. I see it was gone in 1960s. Apparently they closed sometimes before the year 1960. Anyone know more about this rink?
