Hendersonville Skating Rink 750 W Main St, Hendersonville, TN
Hendersonville Skating Rink was located on 750 W Main Street in a town called Hendersonville, Tennessee. This rink was 12,810 square feet in size.
It was opened in 1997 by Operator David Wakins. I have no date of when they closed. Google Map tells me it was up for sale in July 2013. Whew, good catch, Google Map! That tractor trailer would have blocked the view for that year. (I think they should close off to traffic for few mins so they can film all stores, businesses, etc. ) Likely closed by 2012.
Immediately right to the rink from the road was the Mason Jar Restaurant which was a tiny diner. Looked like it was very old tiny diner. Back in 1910s to 1930s, many diners or restaurants were tiny like this. Like the first White Castle in 1921 and even Bob's Pastry (later, became famous Bob's Big Boys Restaurants we all remembered the short jolly boy holding his huge double decker burger up front by the doors (Yes, Bob Wian was the first to invent that double decker, NOT McDonalds!) They both were that small. Bob's Pastry was I think 8 seats. That was all.
Both were on the same property. The rink and the tiny restaurant.
But when I saw the Google Map, the for sale sign in 2013, after that, it was renovated for the building quickly and the cute little diner was demolished.
The Interior.
N/A.
The Exterior.
Free-Span Steel Truss Steel-Walled Warehouse - like Building with Gable Roof. It had American colors of Red-White-Blue. Very patriotic. Perhaps it was similar theme inside but I am not sure unless any of you can explain to me more about this rink.
After it was sold, the cute beloved little diner was demolished and the developer who owns it split the floor plan into half and I believe one became a Thai restaurant. The other was City Electrical Supply. But the CES is gone.
