Hauer's Roll-A-Rena, 2121 13th S., Great Falls, MT
Hauer's Roll-A-Rena was a rink in Great Falls, Montana during the peak of Roller Skating in 60s to 80s. It was opened on/around Friday August 20 or Saturday August 21, 1965 as a response to other skating rinks closed due to flooding in 1964. The West Side Roller Rink closed in 1964 due to the floods. The Hauers Family opened in 1965 but the Roll-A-Rena was sold in 1980s because no one wanted to purchase the rink to maintain as a roller rink. Instead it went to a print shop. No longer a rink. They closed in September 1989. This building is now a church.
However, the Hauers also operated Wheels West Skating Center in the same town. Unfortunately for that rink, it has been closed as well.
Only I could find is that local newspaper with the owner and his four children.
