Hagy's Fountainblu 521 Locust Rd, New Cumberland, PA. Taken in December 1978. Made sense because you can see the popularity of roller skating peaked in that cycle of era. The Silver Era. Second of all, I love those globe lights. Scones and pendents. Someone said the make out area was on the back right side of the rink. Oh really! This looked like a Friday or Saturday session. Hagy's Fountainblu 521 Locust Rd, New Cumberland, PA. The rink today. Looked more covered. Ceiling was covered with ceiling foam tiles, no windows, and rink floor appeared to touch the right side where the make out area used to be. And those globes are gone. They looked shorter but not really. The back wall is the same wall. To see where the new lower level of ceiling in the B/W photo, see the outline about halfway between original ceiling and the snack bar area on the right in the B/W photo. Hagy's Fountainblu 521 Locust Rd, New Cumberland, PA. I love this color. Beautiful green color. It is very unsual and rare for a rink to have a name on their pocket mirror. Yes, it did say Harrisburg but this is the one belongs to the New Cumberland, PA rink, not the other Hagy's.. the Hagy Brothers' Roller Rink. Source: eBay.

Fountainblu Skate Arena 521 Locust Rd, New Cumberland, PA (Still operational)
Hagy's Fountainblu which is now Fountainblu Skate Arena were at 521 Locust Road, New Cumberland, Pennsylvania. They were operational until the current operating rink called Fountainblu Skate Arena. It is merely a name change. Still same rink. It is listed because of previous name and to clear the difference between this one and the other Hagy related name rink, Hagy Brothers' Roller Rink.

Hagy's Fountainblu December 1978.... Where were you then? (I will answer this question. December 1978...I remember school, that bad snow storm around Christmas time... and riding the 1977 Arctic Cat Pentera, 1976 Arctic Cat Jag, 1974 Polaris Colt... and of course! Roller Skating at Empire Skates East!)
Fountainblu History ...
Fountainblu has been a family owned and operated skating rink since 1973! The property was developed in the late 60's for Indoor/Outdoor tennis courts. The outside parking lot on the right was originally outdoor tennis courts. In our Skate Rental Room you can still see the original tennis court floor. In the early 70's Mr. Hyles Hagy converted the building into Hagy's Fountainblu Skating Arena, named after Mr. Hagy's favorite Miami Hotel - The Fontainebleau. Mr. Hagy and Harry Schiazza, who owned Elmwood Skating Rink in Philadelphia were Roller Skating Association members and good friends. Elmwood Skating Rink was opened in 1946 in Philadelphia by Harry's father Nick Schiazza. When Mr. Hagy was ready to retire in 1995, he sold the rink to Harry's son and wife, Bob and Diane, who still operate it as a family business. Since 1946, the Schiazza family has continued a Pennsylvania skating tradition! We thank all our wonderful skaters who have rolled through Fountainblu the last several decades!
This rink has nothing to do with Hagy Brothers' Roller Rink as mentioned in a 1939 newspaper article and photograph showing the victim laying behind the rink.
This is what Diane Schiazza, the family member that owned the rink, replied to me...
It’s not Hagy's Fountainblu in New Cumberland. Mr. Hagy had a Rink on crooked Hill Road in Harrisburg but I don’t think it dated back to 1939.
So that is another one!? Sounded bit confusing to me though. So, there were three? But not related rinks.
This page is about the New Cumberland location. There will be one that is related to the murder in 1939 at Hagy Brothers' Roller Rink in another profile. That one was from 1920s to 1940s.
This rink is quite different to clear the differences.
The Interior.
Hagys' Fountainblu: Since this building used to be a tennis court building, some of the part of the building still exposes tennis court still in use. The ceiling was right to the ceiling exposing the Gabled Trusses. Very spacious interior. Non-painted Maple floor. (based on Black-and-White photo above)
Fountainblu Skate Arena: Same rink, same layout but apparently looked wider on the right side if you want to compare the two photograph. new ceiling tiles to lower the ceiling level (energy saving), and new light equipment, new paint jobs, redone the roller floor.
The Exterior.
Hagys' Fountainblu: The exterior is very simple design. It has half way up with Red bricks with a Semicircular Arch doorway which brings uniqueness of the appearance which does still feel 1980s to me. But the upper part of the main building is all Steel walled. Looks like a Steel-walled warehouse upon a commercial building. It sits on a nice property cross the street from a playing field. The parking lot is quite unusual though.
It was an indoor tennis court building. It was quite clear with the design was made for tennis courts indoors.
Fountainblu Skate Arena: Same.
