This rink was located at 13 State Route 57 in Hackettstown, New Jersey. It had various of names with names changes as years went by. They were including, America On Wheels Hackettstown Skate, Hackettstown Roller Rink, Hackettstown, Family Skating, Skate 57 Family Fun Center & Skate Park, Hackettstown Skate Park & Skating Arena, Skate Park Roller Rink and of course, Roller Rinkin, Even recently as Hackettstown Indoor Sports Academy. That was seven, I repeat, seven names! All related to skating or sports or both. The current fate is unknown.
The building was up for sale and now it is no longer for sale on Loop Net. Apparently it was sold. It became Hackettstown Indoor Sports Academy which was opened in 2017.
Google Maps showed me Skate Park Roller Rink closed already as seen on blurry 2008 photograph. I will try to have that one cleaned up and showed above which you already seen it above.
Looks like now it is Stryker Airsoft. It a military fight simulator that is similar to Laser Tag. You dress more like a military solider rather than futuristic Laser Tag bib and helmet.
I am lacking much history and pretty much missing everything.
The Interior.
Hackettstown Skate: N/A
Hackettstown Roller Rink: N/A
Hackettstown, Family Skating: N/A
Skate 57 FFC &SP: Likely a split one building for Skate park and other roller rink. Which is which and interior description of rink is unknown.
Roller Rinkin: N/A
Skate Park Roller Rink: N/A
Hackettstown Skate Park & Skating Arena: Likely a split one building for Skate park and other roller rink. Which is which and interior description of rink is unknown. The Skate park had many transitions and many quarter-pipes. Also, a fly box, 7 ft. halfpipe, pyramid, and many small fun-boxes to play on.... 100% covered in metal that pops up here and there
Hackettstown Indoor Sports Academy: Used Astroturf for indoor Football. Painted walls and ceiling all Snow White.
Stryker Airsoft: It has a pro-shop in one section and the other is indoor Laser Tag set up however, more realistic military simulation rather than futuristic Laser Tags you found at other roller rinks.
The Exterior.
The exterior apparently looks the same as it was throughout the years. It does have that warehouse look with Brown Bricks and Dark Chocolate Brown Steel Wall with Free-Span Steel Trusses. It is a campus of 3 very large buildings. I am not sure now which was the roller rink because each were different businesses. Hence all the names! The 66,000 Square Feet I believe is a combination of all three building. Roughly almost all three are same size. So give or take 22,000 Square Feet each facility.
Of course, Google Maps and Loop Net photos showed it was Gabled Roof however, the interior showed it is Quonset Hut style roof. That is confusing to me. Was it really the building in the rear? If not, that is very unusual design that has interior with the Quonset Hut ceiling and framing BUT has Gabled Roof OUTSIDE. This is one of most unusual design.

We do not endorse such illegal activities including breaking and entry of former rinks, malls, abandoned buildings, etc. Please always obey laws and regulations and property owner's signs. Some states allow purple paint on fence which means they even have guns on their property and have rights to shoot you. Please DO NOT attempt to enter property without permission!
For abandoned rinks, after you receive permission, do WEAR safety OSHA equipment including a safety glasses, pair of safety gloves, an orange vest or a jacket, and a construction helmet.
Thank you for understanding.
Dead Rinks is now International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© because many former names have become new names at the same rinks that are still active and due to much confusion, We have decided that International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© fits better for all rinks including defunct, closed, inactive, rebooted, and rinks that are still active today. For short on this site, it is International Roller Skating Rinks History© Bear with us as we change the entire site page by page each day. Thank you for understanding.
Second of all: The contents including words and photos above on this page and/or on any pages are purely educational entertainment purposes only. I provide what information from other websites, skaters, and operators and it may end up with different results between two (or more) sources. It is not our responsible for errors we caused. All sources are shown on each page. All opinions and statements of mine are also stated and are for purely educational entertainment only.
Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former. Since we are rebooted to allow alive rinks, active rinks, we welcome those active rinks as well. It will be described.
As for “For Office Only” is for my reasoning and private legal reason for that.
