All courtesy of Google Map. 2013 and bottom is 2019. I like the bottom appearance better because they painted an accent color of Royal Blue on the roof trim. Although I like the Skate Box the name and logo because it was easy to read from the road! The longer the name, the harder to see on sign when you are going from 30 MPH or higher. Its a fact.

First came was Greenwood Skating Center then the Skate Box before it has current rink (but i am not sure if it is really operational for Bowling Green Skate Center. It is located at 506 Three Springs Road, Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Greenwood Skating Center was opened in 1979 and operated for 28 years with Ken Meredith who was part owner and manager of the rink. The other partner I do not know.
Then Ken sold it to David and Cynthia Gillock in late August 2007 and the Gillocks renamed it to The Skate Box which lasted till 2018. Then it became Bowling Green Skate Center.
There is no website and there is Facebook but BGSC has not updated since 2019 but there is a photo of sometimes of last year with a face mask. That showed it was after COVID lockdowns began. Or after the lift of COVID.
Is this rink still open? I received no replies and I am still waiting so is this rink still operational?
One thing though according to the article in BG Daily News that The Gillocks are best known for putting Champs, a popular skating center in Louisville, out of business years ago with their location in the Valley Station area, but were recently bought out by Kroger, whose supermarket will soon build on the site. The couple is known in the roller skating industry for more than 15 years at the time that article was written in 2007.
The Interior.
The interior showed a medium-large rink floor that is painted Gray. It appeared to be either Concrete or wood. Likely wood because I saw a photo with a person on it, the reflexion on the floor showed how ribbed it was. That has to be wood. Concrete is smoother. Why? Wood has pieces put together and you can tell by the lines and when the temperature changes, the floor changes.
The carpets on the wall are Lime Green.
Almost has no half-walls to divide but has a step down floor. The walls has pretty much some kind of green and some kind of blue. Hard to say because of different color of lights shining making it look different hue of color.
The pendent lights are Dutch Saucer lights or known to us, UFO lights. It also has those popular Starburst lights with Diamond Ball (really, mirror balls). Two sets of Starburst Lights and Diamond Balls. One set on each end of center of rink on the ceiling.
The Exterior.
I do not know what the appearance is like for the original--the Greenwood Skating Center but the Skate Box had pretty much Whiteness. White this or that on the exterior including the sign background, the wall, and the Steel sheet metal canopy.
But that all changed when it became Bowling Green Skate Center. The Blueness are in in many places. Well, for the exterior of this building, it was Royal Blue on the Steel sheet metal canopy above te door.
