Geneva Rollerdrome, 214 Lyons Road, Geneva, NY
Geneva Rollerdrome was a rink in Geneva, NY in the Finger Lakes region closer to Rochester than to Syracuse, NY and minutes from the New York State Thruway. This rink recently is up for sale because they recently closed. The daughter of the founder closed the rink after her attempt to revive her father's rink after his death.
The rink was closed for good in 2014 according to Loopnet, an internet real estate website for commercial buildings. It was up for sale for years till perhaps late 2018 and it is now owned by a real estate investor who would lease to someone who wants to rent the facility. Too late to save the rink after been many years mothballed. Likely it has already been rented.
From their defunct website still running online, partial quoted and edited for errors
The three brothers, Sam, Joe and Benjamin DiFederico in 1955 opened Geneva Rollerdrome after they had it built that year. In 1992 Benjamin passed away and left his loving wife, Joyce DiFederico, Federico's Service Center and Geneva Rollerdrome. Joyce gave the repair garage to her oldest son and continued to run the Geneva Rollerdrome until 2011. In 2011 Joyce decided to retire in Florida and her daughter Darlene and her partner Charles Arthur purchased the property and business. They renamed the enterprise after Darlene's beloved father Benjamin. We are currently under taken some major renovations to the building and heating system.
In addition to that history according to bizapedia, Joyce registered the business on December 24, 2001 and her daughter Darlene operated the rink till closure in 2016 according to the real estate ad in December 2016. It was up for sale but now it says for rent. It might have been still owned by Darlene and her family but as a rented facility to anyone who wants to rent the facility.
There are no interior photos but only exterior photo and you will noticed it was painted tan instead of Geneva Rollerdome Grey exterior look with blue awing with the name on it. Also it had blue stripe horizontally. The roof was semi curved arch roof with flat in center line from front to rear. The front and rear had exact same outline of stepped walls to make it look more 1800s western look. The blue awing is now pitch black awing but still sports the glass block windows around the facility. New roof is installed.
There was no pavement on most of the property.
