Hard to read. It says $1. Shop thanks to Loop Net. Source: Google Map. 2008.
This was a $1. Shop in 2008 before the Fun Town Factory. Must be it was Funtime Skate Center BEFORE this D-store was in business as seen above. You can tell by the outlines of where the double doors windows used to be but when the store went out of business, a new rink owner restored the doors and windows exact the same. The Fun Town Factory clearly was a reboot of the original. Right down to the doors and windows but added the charm of a castle look. Source: Loop Net. Noticed the same van in both pictures. Apparently you know that was the owner or cashier. Where were allthe shoppers? I guess nothing. Bad spot? Every single business came and went quickly.
The former Fun Town Factory, Independence, Missouri. Recent photo taken 2021. No more church. Just the name remains. Photo taken by KB.

This rink had two names -- Funtime Skate Center and the Fun Town Factory. There is no other information related to both of them! Only I have the facility that was for sale in Loopnet and then apparently sold to a church which is now Divine Heritage Church. Funny thing, the church has no website! It is registered as fictitious name. Really strange.
Speaking of the church, you can see on Google Map (shown above) has their logo on the building with GEARS! For a church?! I am a Christian but this is bit odd. Must be they adopted from the Fun Town Factory because gears are usually associated with factories.
Was the rest of the building as it was before that church took over? It has castle like because of four corner towers. Yes, even to the back of the building according to aerial view.
There are no photos at all for the original rink but only got one from someone who emailed me on 23 May 2021. Everything gone about the rink and the Fun Town Factory.
Likely Funtime Skate Center was around 1974 to maybe 2000s. Closed, then it became a D-store called $1. Store. Then they folded around 2008 or 2009 then the rebooted skating rink called Fun Town Factory. In that carination, only lasted 3 years. Sad.
