Newspaper article on FunQuest rink. Germantown Weekly, Thursday November 6, 201(5?)
This is bit unusual for the Fun Quest Family Center to have windows open like that although the rink closed on January 6, 2017 because this photograph was taken on May 4th, 2021. A good four years later. The print out on the door says it is closed. If so, why did not they put the plyboards up? Good question. Photo provided by B.L.

This once a roller rink facility was housed in FunQuest Family Center. Sometimes called FunQuest Skating Center. was housed in a huge modern facility. It was built in 1999 along with laser tag. The facility is quite huge in terms of square footage for entire facility. 64,200 SF. I am sure they had larger than life skating rink. But also it housed bowling lanes as well. So, that thought had to be disappointing. Big building, yes, not so big rink perhaps. There are no pictures of the rink as matter of fact. It is quite interesting for a rink that lasted roughly 15 years or so. There is no information regarding when it closed for good. Unfortunately, this limits my opportunity to add much information to add.
The exterior looked very much like a modern shopping plaza with canopies. It has Vibrant Red color splash on the building with the logo FunQuest in middle between the two canopies. The rink had been on the left side of the building when you face the front of the building. On the back, it showed that gable roof aluminum siding building making its appearance like a warehouse! It also had Tan color all over.
The interior photos did not do any good at all because I searched and there were none through my favorite browser so I switched to Google and found a little bit more pictures but no pictures of the rink itself. Not even on Yelp which even mentioned it is closed. Just only bowling section of the building.
The only source I could find is their local newspaper that showed on front page of the rink's speed skating competition. I think it said Southwest Speed regional championship. That is only holy grail I could find about the rink. It had Green and Purple walls and half walls wrapped around the rink. It also had clear coated Maple wood with epoxy coat as I can see it was shining on the floor as speeders zoom by a turn. However, it did not show clearly what kind of layout. Was it fan layout? Log Cabin? Straight? Curved?
I just needed more pictures to see what the interior was like. The owner did not want anyone to know what the interior is like especially on commercial real estate website. Go figure. I will need photos of the interior of the rink. ONLY ONE photo I found somewhere I saved weeks ago but that picture disappeared on the net (Written in 2019).
The facility for the roller rink side was more than just skating. They had laser tag games and a full scale restaurant. Full scale restaurant? Wow, not like a snack bar. A skating rink in Colorado just closed in February 2021 had a full scale restaurant with roller rink and everything else. Very similar and that restaurant was really wow! And huge.
The bowling section is still operational.
UPDATE:
A skate fan helping out and send me an email the date of closure. He took the picture TODAY (04 May 2021) and the piece of paper on the door explained the date of closure. It was January 6, 2017. Wow, that apparently showed the facility is STILL empty! But Loop Net explained it is no longer for sale. Must be sold or withdrawn.
