Forest Park Roller Skating Rink Hanover, PA. The main gate entering the park. They did not say what decade but to me, it appeared to be 1950s thanks to the automobiles. Can you name those cars? There is a late 1950s car parked in the background. Source:

Forest Park Roller Skating Rink Hanover, PA
This roller rink was part of an amusement park called Forest Park. The Forest Park Roller Skating Rink was in Hanover, Pennsylvania. Forest Park was a Trolley Park which was opened on 25 June 1904. Named after the previous land owner Captain A.W. Eichelberger. They operated until after 1967 season was over (September/October). From its opening until 1926, it was owned and operated by Hanover and Mcsherrystown Street Railway Company.
Actually, this Trolley Park was an Electric Park and was originally called Eichelberger Park. Glad the name was changed in 1926 because of the long difficult name. The name was changed when August Karst became the manager of the park and eventually in 1930, he bought 17 Acres of land which included Forest Park adjunct to the Eichelberger Park.
A roller coaster was constructed and opened that year. It was originally named Greyhound and was later renamed Roller Dip. The coaster was 2100 feet long (640 meters) and had a maximum height of 73 feet (22.25 meters).
Hardly information regarding the rink compared to the amusement park. However, the ending of the park met with its demise in 1971 with demolishing to make room for South Hanover Shopping Center 1971.
The Interior.
It was basically all wood. I cannot tell what floor but maybe Maple. All wooden trusses. And yes, they had column posts in middle of the rink floor. It appeared not to be large though. Only photograph I can see was on pocket mirrors (see photo gallery).
The Exterior.
It was a Monitor style building all built with wood. It was White wall with likely Forest Green Trim.
