Twilight Skate Center 2700 Phillips Dr., Jonesboro, AR. This is what I mean with the logo on the window. Nice pic, sir! Yes, you in the photo! Also nice clean logo. Not too detailed. Clean, simple, but one color too many. Rule usually out there is up to 3 colors, not 4. Although I love the logo. Very modern, very 2020s, Unfortunately that is gone and 2020 is here now. Courtesy of Family Fun Central of Jonesboro.
Twilight Skate Center 2700 Phillips Dr., Jonesboro, AR. This was the look before Twilight owns it now. You barely see in the dark the wall colors from bottom up. Dark Gray, Dark Blue, Red, and White. Yes, they had a movie screen on the wall back then. Currently at Twilight, there is no screen. MTV is so 80s you know. Courtesy of Family Fun Central of Jonesboro.

This rink had everlasting names changes. Currently operating is Twilight Skate Center. I strongly encourage you go check them out! Unfortunately those in the past stays in the past: Family Fun Central of Jonesboro, Good Times Family Skating Center, Jonesboro Skate Center, Wheel City, and Rollin J's Family Center.
Currently, it is Twilight Skate Center that is operational since early 2018. I caught something on their Facebook post that was not on Facebook anymore but on March 4/03/18, they had damages to the rink according to their Facebook post ON Local Gyms and Fitness website. None on their Facebook though. They may have removed older ones or more likely from their Family Fun Central Facebook page that is gone. Unfortunately I could not grab that website. But thank you Local Gyms and Fitness. That website is sort of like their version of Dead-Rinks in a way.
As for Rollin J's Family Center, there are no information. Unfortunately, I cannot try to piece this puzzle because of all the rinks that were at this location. Mostly focused are the current Twilight as well as with little bit of Family Fun Central (of Jonesboro) and Jonesboro Skate Center. Good Times Family Skating Center... well, not much either. The same goes with Wheel City.
Wow, Too many rink names! So far SIX rink names at the same spot!
This I will need a lot of information because of so many rinks and needs to try to fit in which came first, second, third, etc. But also in order. Having said, I am aware that Twilight Skate Center IS the current rink. And the previous was Family Fun Central of Jonesboro because of the Local Gyms and Fitness website gave away that clue.
Second of all, thanks to Manta, the Family Fun Central of Jonesboro began in 1993 and ended in early 2018 when Twilight Skate began operating that year. However, a conflict. Rink Time said Family Fun Central of Jonesboro began in 1970! which one of you please stand up telling the truth on the date!?
1970 or 1993? I personally believe it was 1993 but 1970 was the beginning of all rinks in series. But nothing to be vetted for me to say on here. Anyone?
When the Veteto bought it, the floor was ruined by faulty sprinklers that it went off itself flooding the interior and warped the floor like that. They had to renovate and get new wood floor down. This is why you can see how beautiful the floor is.
David and Tristan Veteto is the current owner of Twilight Skate Center. I do not have information on other older rinks at this spot.
Both Cancer survivor David and Tristan Veteto, created a Go Fund Me fundraising account to help with this sudden change.
Please consider donation to help them purchase a new facility as soon as possible because it takes a while to do real estate transaction. Usually three months to four at the most. And that is not enough time. This also requires time consuming to remove Maple wood floor and replaces it on new floor elsewhere.
If you know a place the Vetetos Family can consider purchasing, please let them know by contacting them at this contact: The Twilight Rink.
UPDATE! -- 31 July 2023
The skating rink has six months to vacate the property as they are being evicted. The Vetetos are working on another location at we speak. They may reopen. But for now, they are closing as of Sunday, 26 November 2023. Rink-History will update as we follow what is happening with the rink. Since this rink has current address, it will go down in history. Therefore, it has a rink history! Hence the name.
The Interior.
The original is unknown because it was likely opened in 1970. Of course changes occurred perhaps a couple of times with most recent done in 2018 from that Dark Gray, Dark Blue, Red, and White colors on the wall, fairly dark Maple wood, Globe light balls pendents that are colorful. That part was from more recent times as Family Fun Central. However, they had a damage I do not know what was the cause in 2018. They immediately remodeled and looked refreshed. New floor, Plum Purple.. dark of course, on the wall but kept Navy Ship Gray on other part of the facility. I may not like purple and pink colors but this purple works well complimenting with natural wood. It is very.. refreshing from 1980s look in 2020s style in 2018! I consider their interior very rebooted 80s. Not the original but rebooted. Very comfortable feel in there.
And of course, new mirror ball that rotate.
The Exterior.
This is actually gable building but it does look like it is not because of the main front corner where the front door and window ceiling to floor panels does make it feel like 1970s or 1980s. I have seen many facilities in 1960s and 1970s even 1980s have those panel wall of windows and glass. That architectural design is very functional. Professional and neat yet part of the building still struck in 1960s feel when they first opened in 1970, I love 1930s Art Deco, 1940s and 50s Googies, Mid-Century Modern, Modernism, Cubism, 1960s Browning of America, Contemporary Salt Box, and 1980s Modernism. I also love Mixed, Post Modernism, Post Googie's and related architecture. This rink falls in that 1970s Browning of America because of natural elements they used there on the outside.
The appearance looks similar to the Skate Country trademarked design.

Dead Rinks is now International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© because many former names have become new names at the same rinks that are still active and due to much confusion, We have decided that International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© fits better for all rinks including defunct, closed, inactive, rebooted, and rinks that are still active today. For short on this site, it is International Roller Skating Rinks History© Bear with us as we change the entire site page by page each day. Thank you for understanding.
