Billboard January 24, 1942, page 37. Since this was published in January 24, 1942, it puts the rink's opening day in 1939. Not 1942 as Kansas Historical Society stated.
Skyline Roller Rink SE Quincy at Southeast 6th Ave, Topeka, KS
Fairyland Roller Rink SE Quincy at Southeast 6th Ave, Topeka, KS
Fairyland Roller Rink SE Quincy at Southeast 6th Ave, Topeka, KS
Skyline Roller Rink and Fairyland Roller Rink were in Topeka, Kansas at 6th and Quincy streets. I assume that would be Southeast Quincy Street at Southeast 6th Ave. I am not sure. That rink was in the city. I do not know what building it was because Google map showed it is many modern buildings in that intersection. Only age old are in one corner. The Southeast corner where the Dibble Building is with at least 3 other smaller antique buildings.
W. A. Plaidsted operated Fairyland Roller Rink.
Fairyland Roller Rink began in 1942 according to Kansas Historical society but Billboard already in January 1942 showed an article about a comedian on skates for that January 1942 and it did explain it was open for 3 years already. Skyline took over in 1955 till 1966.
