Courtesy of Susan Miller. Originally as Pastime. Noticed it was in original without the outbuilt up front and side. More windows shown and bigger too.
Courtesy of Ebay. Someone selling postcad. This is much better printing of the postcard. More detailed.
Top two photos Courtesy of Coldwell Banker and Shorewest. It is ruined because of painted over the Dark Red Bricks. I love it natural, I never like if I was to buy, never want to buy a building that is painted over like that. Never. Too much trouble to explain here. Haha. The signage for Skating and Skate are notiable gone in the newer photo.
Google Map 2013. Noticed the original colors of Brown and Yellow? That was common popular colors painted in 1930s. I recalled from my mother when she bought her house in 1987 we we moved and it was built in 1930s with same colors as shown above. I remembered she said it was popular on houses with browns and yellows and Natural Deep Red as well.
As seen from Delavan Roller Rink taken by Google Map. Noticed that statue? It stands on Hip Roof of a bar and grill restaurant. And no, this is NOT on Mars, thank you very much.
Inlet Oaks 548 Delavan Drive, Delavan, WI
Delavan Roller Rink 548 Delavan Drive, Delavan, WI
Pastime Roller Rink 548 Delavan Drive, Delavan, WI
This rink is rather cute looking and bit unusual. The main points to see that it has that 2nd story up front that looks like a house attached to the Arched-curved building. Likely was office or actual living quarters such as an apartment for the owner of the rink or for rent as extra income. That could have been counted as 9,000 Square Feet total for this unusual building.
At the time for sale, it was two tuned Blue. Dark and Navy Ship Grey-Blue. Two photos showed two different tones of blues so it was hard to tell. But thanks to Google Map of August 2013, ah! It was showing in original colors of Dark Red/Natural Red Bricks and Brown colors for walls.
But more importantly the interior tops its very interesting interior design. It is beautiful Royal Blue with White walls and has standard steep Gable ceiling, not roof. The exterior IS arched so it was set up quite differently for the interior. The design was beautiful. Still is until someone buys and change it. It is rather small rink but it is wall to wall except for the front part which is bathrooms, snack bar, eating area, and skate rental for sure. The size appears to be perfect for a ballet for sure.
Apparently they closed in December 2018 and put up for sale by January 2019. There are many websites that listed this building for sale. The building was built in 1931 and Inlet Oaks Roller Rink was established before Delavan Roller Rink. Will need your help to vertify! Any thing? Funny, on Shorewest website, it listed it was for sale for quite a long time since around 2013. When did the rink really close?
Now, off-subject, there is some strange statue on top of hip roof canopy of a business right cross the street if you are going to see on Google Map. Here it is.. See above.
