Dayton Roller Drome 46 East Nottingham Road, Dayton, OH. Photo looked recent, right? Wrong. Demolished in 1980s. This was taken in late 1970s. Good quality photo right? Someone did a good job with film back then! I noticed roof was collapsing in this photo. See right in middle of the rink roof? Appeared to be a hole in the roof. Was it? Oh did someone lose a tire hubcap? Back the day, it was common people lose that but I hardly seen them today because car companies realized its better to have a different kind of cap now. It is part of wheels or rims. Source: Pinterest. Photo remastered by Dead-Rinks. (removed spotty spots in sky).
Dayton Roller Drome 46 East Nottingham Road, Dayton, OH. Since 1990s, it has been a church. Now they are spiritually rolling for God. Appeared to be a hole in the roof. Was it? Source: Google.

Frankie's Roller Drome 46 East Nottingham Road, Dayton, OH (Nickname)
Nagy's Roller Drome 46 East Nottingham Road, Dayton, OH
Dayton Roller Drome also known as Frankie's Roller Drome 46 East Nottingham Road, Dayton, Ohio. The reason for the nickname, "Frankies" because of the area including the park just north of the road, east of North Main Street. It was very close to that corner. It was also called, Nagy's Roller Drome.
Frankie's was operational before 1950s since I have no records but only from USGS aerial map, I was able to see it was there till they had to demolish it. It ran through the 1970s.
It was owned by a woman named Margaret Bowen and managed by John Glenn (no relations to Astronaut John Glenn). John who actually helped design some of Snyder Skate Company's skates/plates.
One commenter on the forum said that there was a coat room. And the floor guard skating backward talking with 3 girls. Wow, Maybe David the Hoff can start a new series, a spin off called Rinkwatch starring David Hasselhoff as a rink operator owning a few rinks and there are a group of floor guards.. Haha. No, no. A joke. The commenter really painted what that floor guard was doing and it does sound like a Baywatch kind of thingy. Girls have had crushes on many floor guards throughout the decades, if not, a century and half at many rinks. Back in the 70s and 80s, I never seen a female floor guards at the rinks I went to. But I am sure now they have equally the numbers for females to be floor guards. I am sure guys are skating by the female floor guards as well.
UPDATE! -- 29 August 2022.
Just received an email from someone.
A few details you can add to the description. The owner Margaret, her last name was Bowen. John Glenn was my speed coach at the time. The floor guard mentioned in the post, his name was Emory Corron. He was described perfectly. The floor was blue and had a plastic coating. Actual dimensions are unknown but is speed skaters based everything off laps per mile. Most rinks were 16 laps per mile, Rollerdrome was 24. This rink was also the home rink of Harold Wyantt. He won 2 world championships in the 40s. He should be in the skating hall of fame but isn't. Hope this helps a bit.
Hey, great thank you, Kenny! Yeah, that is sad Harold Wyant is not in the Hall of Fame. Why not start a petition. He sounded like real good skater. He is like William "Dummy" Hoy of roller skating. Readers, please click on Hoy's name and you will see why. Both gentlemen needs to be in their hall of fames! Please write letters to both hall of fames to demand that both men to be in their hall of fames!
The Interior.
Floor likely Maple. Had a coat room. Blue color roller floor with a Polyurethane coating.
The Exterior.
It was a very old style D/Half Barrel Roof with "Bonnet" style roof around it.. making that a Combination Roof style which is quite unusual to be used. The appearance I see the picture showed it does look more like a barn. It was Sunburst Yellow on aging Wood structure building that looked more like a barn and sat right by the edge of the road.
Off subject, right cross the street was a shopping mall that was built after the rink but demolished half of the mall because it never gained popularity as you can see on USGS maps. You have to type in address and it will lead to other places. I cannot get the site to show you specific area. Google Map I can but it only showed old plaza. Yes, after the mall was dead after 1984, they renovated by 1994 as a simple plaza and built one new building.

Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former.
