Davidson or Exposition Rink were on 4th Street in St. Paul, Minnesota. The name is unknown but was told one or the other. But the fact this rink was in between Wabasha Street South and St. Peter Street on the North Side. Today it is all skyscrapers in downtown St. Paul, Minnesota.
Of course, there were 4 rinks around this time they had while Minneapolis had 15 roller rinks in 1880s. Book Author Larry Millet told me in the email today about this rink. It was opened in 1884 but they folded in 1893.
This rink was many rinks opened up in this new Golden era of roller skating and new rinks everywhere as everyone was capturing their sake of monopoly whoever will out last. Like Coke Cola outlasted everyone and bought out everyone to make the only soda, Coke Cola be available until they forgot that Pepsi came out and Pepsi is number 1 tied with Coke Cola (my opinion) globally ever since.
Ok, the opinion I made about the soda is correct. This is what everyone does when they want to get into the new market. Like with automobiles in 1890s that everyone went into and result was 200 new companies or even more but ended up now with like 30 names but only about 10 major automobile parent companies today owning a few more.
This is how I saw roller skating in 1880s were like. But of course, like any other 1880s and 1890s rinks folded due to the negative reviews by media and churches, Davidson or the Exposition Rink folded. I also believe that there were too much competition.
