Google Map. Taken in 2019. Pretty much the same throughout the years The SK8 operated as seen on Google Map. I do not know what it was like before The SK8. (I wrote them in Facebook but no replies yet).
All courtesy of The Sk8. I know, I know, you may wonder why I would put a picture of a car on here! Hey, Many of you did went to the rink in muscle cars, the Beetles, Mustangs, GTOs, even your Daddy's Riviera, Cadillacs, and Lincolns as well as way back.. Model Ts.. the Bel Aires, the '48 Hudsons, Nashes.. Cords? Ohh, those were the times. Right?

Originally, it was Cumberland Fun Center but then they had The SK8 which stood for The SKATE. It was located at 1810 Foreman Drive in Cookeville, Tennessee.
Christopher E Markgraf opened and operated Cumberland Fun Center. It closed for some reasons.
It was a very highly successful rink when it was The SK8 as I can see thousands of photographs on their Facebook page. It is still operational page and I pray they do not close their Facebook page down as some rinks do that and photographs are loss. Should keep it on. Facebook is supposed to be like a yearbook as it was originally intended to for that social media.
Sadly, The SK8 closed on August 8, 2020. I do not know what happened to them. It seem to be a good crowd of skaters at that rink. Perhaps it was because of COVID lockdown hurt that business that it caused them to close for good. They have been there since I believe 2009 according to Facebook (the oldest photo was from 2009). Likely that was when they first open. Not sure. (Many businesses opened their Facebook account long after they opened their businesses because they needed to focus on all paperworks done, the opening, making sure the staff are doing their jobs, etc).
The building looks large but the looks from what I see, the rink floor is somewhat toward smaller size.
From what I read about the rink and from the photos, they seem to be very good management, very friendly staff, and creative I might want to add because they usually come up with new games for skaters to have fun. I have seen in the photos of new games they played on whileskating.
The Interior.
It had space theme decor. The mural, the carpet...both have stars and planets. Only the skating rink had a planet with a ring around it. It was rather dark inside with dark walls, the murals and carpet.. and the rink floor which appeared to be concrete with a Navy Ship Gray on it.
What I like the most are each section such as the snack bar, rentals, etc have that unique design which is very modern looking and modern fonts as well. It sort of like a shopping mall of sort feel to it. You may describe it differently but this is what I describe it.
This has two themes actually. The space and the modernism. Maybe a fusion there.
The Exterior.
It was a standard Gable Free-Span Steel Truss Steel-Walled Warehouse - like Building.
