Courtesy of Loop Net. Noticed the unique architecture? It is modern take on Southern US French Colonial style. Huge canopy overhead above the 2nd floor. Still skaters would get wet because of high canopy would not protect. Patriotic colors were shown in Red and Blue stripes with White background. Very 1970s feel to it. But once source said they opened in 1998. Can't be right due to the vehicles in the pictures. Are they collectors vehicles? 1980s Lincoln Town Car and a 1980s Chevy pickup truck.
Crystal Palace Skating Center 7143 Mansfield Rd, Shreveport, LA
Crystal Palace Skating Center was a rink way in the back at this property on 7143 Mansfield Rd, Shreveport, LA. This rink is not related to the Vegas rink that one website stated the wrong web address. It is taken care of. This rink was bit unusual because of the style of the building, beyond the rail tracks and behind the storage facility... sort of. And behind the dirt track outside in front of the former rink. It was built after the rink was closed because it became a hobby shop using the track as Radio controlled playgrounds for people who wanted to RC their electronic toys.
After the rink was closed, they added dirt on the old rink. I think they may have removed Maple wood in photos as I saw online.
The hobby shop and RC facility is up for lease and the space be available on November 15, 2020.
The Interior.
Large open space as I can see where the rink was but also large area where the eating area used to be.
Hard to tell because all I have are from the hobby shop. Anyone has old interior for the rink? It has white ceiling panels.
There are conflicting reports on sizing. On Loop net, it said to be 30,000 Square Feet but on a couple of real estate sites, it said to be merely 25,000 Square Feet.
The rink itself was likely Maple because of exposed wooden panels lay on the floor that is normally under the rink.
The Exterior.
The building was bit of unique because it has a mixture of architecture. A fusion. Bit of American South French Colonial style with Gable roof design on front and back of the building as seen in sky view but it was because of the sign with no name as seen from Loop Net however, look at the sign, was there something else before Crystal Palace?
It was two story and had windows and even window on side.
