Shockey's Cosmic Skate & Play 11870 Buchanan Trail East, Waynesboro, PA (a.k.a)
Cosmic Skate & Play 11870 Buchanan Trail East, Waynesboro, Pennsylvania was a rink at the time when it was opened in 2001 as well as incorporated. Shockey's Cosmic Skate & Play also was mentioned as another name. That name reminded me of another similar name but spells differently. Sharkey's was the name crossed my mind. Sharkey's was in Rochester, NY.
Rainbow slushies are amazing, only place you can get them in the tri-state area according to a patron at the rink in August 2012 on Yelp.
It is presently as Pen-Mar Antique Market. On Facebook, it is not clear but it said they were going to have a sixth anniversary in April 2023 however, that event was cancelled. But because of what they said, it helps me know when the rink closed. Likely in 2015.
Not much information regarding the rink nor the building. I will need your help on this very rink.
Manta said it was established in 2001. I need another verification for that.
Angie Shockey was both the owner and operator.
The Interior.
It had a good sized rink that was poured kind-of-Gray Concrete floor. It had Red Stripe wrapped around the rink and rest of the interior. This design reminded me of another rink I think also in PA with this same wall design. Maybe two other rinks. Was this rink also part of same management as two other rinks that I do not recall the names of them? If so, then they were related.
Below the red was Navy Blue. They are Americana colors.
The Exterior.
It had a Free-Span Steel Trusses Steel and Bricks - Walled Storefront - like Building with Gabled roof. They had open grass field next door among with commerical buildings on that street. I believe it was part of same ownership because of the antique market had special market events on that field. Google Maps showed there is a new building being built. A stick-built.

Dead Rinks is now International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© because many former names have become new names at the same rinks that are still active and due to much confusion, We have decided that International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© fits better for all rinks including defunct, closed, inactive, rebooted, and rinks that are still active today. For short on this site, it is International Roller Skating Rinks History© Bear with us as we change the entire site page by page each day. Thank you for understanding.
Second of all: The contents including words and photos above on this page and/or on any pages are purely educational entertainment purposes only. Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former. Since we are rebooted to allow alive rinks, active rinks, we welcome those active rinks as well. It will be described.
As for “For Office Only” is for my reasoning and private legal reason for that.
