SC Cherry Hills / Cherry Hill Skating Center / Hot Wheelz 664 Deer Rd Cherry Hill, NJ. Ahh, waited all day till night time. Finally, let's skate at Hot Wheelz! Courtesy of Four Square.
SC Cherry Hills / Cherry Hill Skating Center / Hot Wheelz 664 Deer Rd Cherry Hill, NJ. Feel very welcoming with the huge logo on the Black Light carpet. It also feels like welcoming to the massive arcade they have at Hot Wheelz. They have TWO Air Hockey. You only saw one in this photo. The other is to the left of the photo. 3 Skee-Balls, many electronic arcade games. They only work if you use game cards. Why not tokens!? Courtesy of Hot Wheelz.
SC Cherry Hills / Cherry Hill Skating Center / Hot Wheelz 664 Deer Rd Cherry Hill, NJ. There are three Skee-Balls. And other arcade games. Courtesy of Hot Wheelz.
SC Cherry Hills / Cherry Hill Skating Center / Hot Wheelz 664 Deer Rd Cherry Hill, NJ. This is my favorite part of the rink because they really do have the best art work with this mural. It is Black Light mural. The artist's name is not clear but huge signature! This should be the main logo. Not the other one you seen on the website. Really, artists are supposed to do it small signatures. Courtesy of Hot Wheelz.
SC Cherry Hills / Cherry Hill Skating Center / Hot Wheelz 664 Deer Rd Cherry Hill, NJ. Compare to the old rink logo. Sorry the picture might have been either poor digital from back then or film! Appears to be film. But not sure. Anyway, the old logo looks very 80s, 90s look. Might have been taken by year 2000. Courtesy of Four Square.
SC Cherry Hills / Cherry Hill Skating Center / Hot Wheelz 664 Deer Rd Cherry Hill, NJ. As Cherry Hill Skating Center. Everything was so soft colors. Soft White, and Old Lavender on the main wall according to Artyclick.com website. Courtesy of Yelp.
SC Cherry Hills / Cherry Hill Skating Center / Hot Wheelz 664 Deer Rd Cherry Hill, NJ. More of the Cherry Hill Skating Center old look. Was the half-wall color that color, Blue Angel? Of course, Old Lavender on the main walls in background. Very feminine style. Thought it looked white. Courtesy of Yelp
SC Cherry Hills / Cherry Hill Skating Center / Hot Wheelz 664 Deer Rd Cherry Hill, NJ. Slowly transferring to Hot Wheelz. The Half-Wall color remained the same but the new logo partial hidden on top right side of the photo clearly is Hot Wheelz and new carpet. Huge arcade. You know how many games? Courtesy of
SC Cherry Hills / Cherry Hill Skating Center / Hot Wheelz 664 Deer Rd Cherry Hill, NJ. Now it is Hot Wheelz. Notice they reduced the rink size because of the circles you can see what they have done. They did that to add a Jungle Gym. This is toward the back of the rink. Concession is in the front as well as the arcade. But this is the rear as I can figure this out. Compare to the old photo number 8. Courtesy of Hot Wheelz.
SC Cherry Hills / Cherry Hill Skating Center / Hot Wheelz 664 Deer Rd Cherry Hill, NJ. This is the old Cherry Hill Skating Center. You can see this old logo very basic by the ceiling. Compare to the photo 2 pictures above this one. Very basic. Courtesy of Yelp.
SC Cherry Hills / Cherry Hill Skating Center / Hot Wheelz 664 Deer Rd Cherry Hill, NJ. Then this is the one with new logo. Major improving but more to improve. This was a gradual evolutionary design for this rink. Look for next few photos showing most modern. Courtesy of Hot Wheelz.
SC Cherry Hills / Cherry Hill Skating Center / Hot Wheelz 664 Deer Rd Cherry Hill, NJ. This is the current look. They added the gym, and new party space in the rear. It shorten the rink though. I did see on Google Maps, their property cannot extend further. However, they could have built up front a new longer building and add those two spaces and not have to worry about losing rink space. But the downside is that it is very expensive to expand new additions so, that would be a no go though. I did see their property taxes (It is public records). Really through the roof! Courtesy of Hot Wheelz.
SC Cherry Hills / Cherry Hill Skating Center / Hot Wheelz 664 Deer Rd Cherry Hill, NJ. Now you see the new Half-Walls color. I believe it is Dark Red however, the problem is they were using Black Light in this photo and that makes it harder to know the difference. But it is toward that color Beautiful now. More colorful and bolder than the soft colors. Courtesy of Hot Wheelz.
SC Cherry Hills / Cherry Hill Skating Center / Hot Wheelz 664 Deer Rd Cherry Hill, NJ. Now the walls are carpeted! Final evolution. Gone darker! Not darkest yet. Ha. Carpets on the walls like that can soften impact of skaters crashing into the walls This is a far cry from old rinks of early 20th Century using hard Iron Pipes for rails and easily can flip over or even slipped under the rails causing injuries. Ask any old timers. They will tell you. Not found online. Courtesy of Hot Wheelz.

SC Cherry Hill followed by Cherry Hills Skating & Fun Center were on 664 Deer Road Cherry Hill, New Jersey. Now it is Hot Wheelz.
Cherry Hill Skating & Fun Center was established in 1973. This confirmed that this was the same owners, a couple who leased another rink that they closed in 1973 and owned this rink according to this other profile. Alpine Skating Center in Camden, NJ when Theodore and Sue Rendfrey leased that rink for three years. They abandoned it and focused on Cherry Hill Skating & Fun Center.
I think the original owners sold the rink and it became SC Cherry Hills. I believe the SC stands for Skating Center. So, it was this-- Skating Center Cherry Hills. Slightly difference. But they stick with Cherry Hill Skating and Fun Center. But somewhere in 2018 to 2020, it became Hot Wheelz. New ownership. It is still operational today. I love the interior! Really nice!
The property taxes for 2023 is quite expensive! 38,000 plus USD! They sure need a lot of parties and a lot of skaters to attend skating to make up that expenses. Not even mention to income tax in NJ... expenses, you name it.
The Interior.
Cherry Hill Skating & Fun Center: I do not have photos of the rink in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. All I have are more recent times as far back as 2017. Same goes with SC Cherry Hills. The walls were very basic soft colors including Blue Angel on Half-Walls, and Old Lavender as Main walls and simple lights. It was very basic 1980s look rink. But with more recent appearance. The floor is non-color painted, Polyurethane-coated Hardwood Maple with a layout that is STEP LOG CABIN.
They had two of the same logos on the same wall with one being on each side of big movie screen that is in between the logo.
They had Neon Lights of Blue and Pinkish Red. Very 1980s style. Still on there!
SC Cherry Hills: Might be same.
Hot Wheelz: They renovated between 2018 and 2020. More colorful, Painted Dark Blue, Hot Pink on walls. The blue is on one end where the current Jungle Gym playground is located and their huge Black Light logo on there. There are actually two. See photos. The rink floor remains the same as it is already 50 years now.. Its lifetime has expired but we will see. The floor is non-painted Polyurethane-coated Hardwood Maple with a layout that is STEP LOG CABIN.
The Exterior.
Cherry Hill Skating & Fun Center: I do not have photos of the rink in the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. All I have are more recent times as far back as 2017. Same goes with SC Cherry Hills. However, the building itself is the same. Cinderblocks walled with Steel Sheets making it looks like a warehouse. The front door is not on the side as many rinks do but this one is at one end. That side is front facing a long narrow parking lot. And sits far back from the road. Pretty much industrial area. It is 2.5 Acres. Size of the rink is unknown. Free-Span Steel Trusses Cinderblocks Based, Steel - Walled Warehouse - like Building with Gabled roof.
SC Cherry Hills: Might be the same.
Hot Wheelz: Free-Span Steel Trusses Cinderblocks Based, Steel - Walled Warehouse - like Building with Gabled roof. The Steel walls are Off-White and the Cinderblock were Tanish Gray. It has Red Canvas Canopy with Half-Barrel Arch. Very 1980s-1990s style.

Dead Rinks is now International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© because many former names have become new names at the same rinks that are still active and due to much confusion, We have decided that International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© fits better for all rinks including defunct, closed, inactive, rebooted, and rinks that are still active today. For short on this site, it is International Roller Skating Rinks History© Bear with us as we change the entire site page by page each day. Thank you for understanding.
