This was a possible location of the old Central Square Roller Rink with the bowling alley. But not sure. Anyone? I made this guess because of the tennis courts were shown on right side of photo. The sign I could not read on the wall of this warehouse like building. This was a 1982 photograph.
Central Square Roller Rink State Route 49, Central Square, NY
Central Square Roller Rink was opened and operated by Charlie Brown. No, not the comic Strips character. He was real person. Charlie operated this rink but I do not have much other information at all. Just I know who ran. Someone on Facebook said Charlie also was affiliated with other area rinks in the 1960s to 1980s. That is all I have for this rink.
It was on Route 49 in Central Square just off of Interstate 81. Closed likely in 1980s but not sure.
Charlie Brown sold the land for a good chunk of change and a shopping center or grocery store of some type was put there. (C.R).
I regret I do not have any photographs of the rink. I am not sure if I got the correct location for the former rink with that photo shown above.
Interior -
It had two rinks - main skating rink and It had a pretty sizeable practice rink. Main floor was Maple but the practice floor was Concrete. Concrete for practice? That is harder for kids because of injuries. Should have Maple (RollerCourt was not available for another 2 decades).
Exterior -
