All of Google Maps. Top two--2007 and 2019. The bottom left showed original sign that was up for very long time. Apparently the skating rink had a sign there as well. The one on the right is newer sign. Was set up sometimes later in 2010s.
Carver’s Family Fun Center 1649 Murfreesboro Rd, Lebanon, TN
Carver’s Family Fun Center was located at 1649 Murfreesboro Road in Lebanon, Tennessee. It was Established in 1996 (Manta) and they folded sometimes after that. I believe they may have opened sometime before that. The building was built in 1978 (Zillow). Likely they were opened at the time. Closed sometimes after 1996. Unless anyone can correct, please let me know. Thank you. I have strong feeling there was another rink before Carver's in 1996.
Speaking of closing, There are two dates of it closed as seen on Zillow, There was October 3, 2003 that was sold for 475,000 USD. but was lower when it was also sold on November 20, 1996 for 265,000 USD. If that was true Carver's opened in 1996 and the date of the building sold in 1996, then it has to be 1996 for Carver's to open. Was it another rink before 1996? I do not have it on my list. Anyone know about it? Clearly Carver's closed in 2003. 7 years it ran.
I think its an auction house now. That building was converted to properly named as Old Rink Plaza to name after the skating rink. Nice. A very few buildings were named after the old skating rinks in such building like this one and The Rink Office in another part of the state, and a former rink with the name The Rink (shopping center) in New Orleans that is a landmark. A few rinks names are preserved that way. Like a group of car dealership is in a former shopping mall and they only kept the word, "Mall" inside which is still literally parts of of the original shopping mall there.
Anyway, there you have it.
Still currently as Old Rink Plaza. Or as The Shops at Old Rink Plaza.
The Interior.
N/A. Several real estate websites said different sizes. One said to be 18,363 SF but two sites confirmed each other at 17,181 SF. Likely the latter is correct.
The Exterior.
it was a Flat roofed Free-Span Steel Truss Cinderblock-Walled Storefront - like Building. They renovated on the outside completely from the Stained wood shingles on Hip roof into Steel sheet metals with teal color on it. That was the color about 5 to 10 years too late to put on. But they must have liked that look.
There were two admission doors I can see in the 2007 photo. I am not sure which one was the real front. Street side or parking lot side. Now, there are a few doors added because they converted into a parking lot.
