Carousel Skate Center was another of the Carousel Skate Centers around Alabama. This one being in Albertville which became Mega Skate. It was founded in 1979. It is currently closed as of June 2019 according to Facebook, It did say permanently closed on that page. The rink ran 40 years with both businesses. Perhaps Carousel Skate Center was part of a local chain with 3 or 4 other Carousels in Alabama.
Then came Grind Zone Skate in 1995 then became Mega Skate which closed in 2019 according to Facebook. Fans said they closed in 2014. Which one?
The Interior.
The interior was beautiful. Beautiful lights. Neon lights wrap around the rink on the wall and the light rings which is very common in that state according to my researching about every single rinks. Seemly they were or are popular in that state.
The Exterior.
It has that late 1970s/early 1980s look with of course, Red Brick Bricks pillars with stucco on it. As of late, it had Dark Pewter color of sort. The roof looked a little Mansard with Flat top.
I am sure it was different color back in the 80s and 90s. This appearance was similar to other Carousel Skate Centers but the entrance was on the left side rather than middle right.
