All courtesy of Google Map. The middle one was taken in May 2008 and bottom was taken exactly 11 years later-- May 2019. Of course, tree lines changed. New sign, and new colors. They removed the sign above the main front door. The May 2008 photo has been enchanted by Mark Falso. I tried my best to clean that mess for Google Map.
Courtesy of Joe B. on Yelp. Beautiful colors. The technique of his camera differ than shown below by Skate Arena. I love that blue shown above. Still, the colors below are excellent choice for modern day at Moulton Skate Arena.

Captain Battles Skates Center was a rink before it became Skate Arena which is still operational but not the old name. It is in Moulton, Alabama. Skate Arena's official name is Moulton Skate Arena.
The information is not much out there. Only I have so far is in Rink Time website stating that Skate Arena was in operations since 1984. Was Captain Battles before that year or was it originally used as name in 1984 and changed sometimes between 1984 and present?
I see on Google Map a very poor photograph taken in 2008 with blur and glare and all. But the appearance was that ithad dark color trim around the roofline. It appeared to be Black with Light Grey. Then later, in more recent times, it showed entire building in Light Gray color. And a real nice but hard to see neon sign. I felt the sign needed work and as for the rink, they could have stayed with more of two toned colored building. Anyone has more information?
The Interior.
I do not know what it was like before they renovated in 2018. But the newly renovated interior really comfort me. Well balanced colors on walls, no murals. This is post-murals era that murals were common in 1990s to 2000s. But not only that, they have all updated color trends. One of the photo showed this certain blue that I cannot describe. It is not Industrial Blue, not Royal Blue, not Sky Blue. Closely reassembled to Medieval Blue according to Pantone colors of 2018. Maybe Constellation Blue. Among that, there are other beautiful colors. They have one color each wall section between the steel truss support. They are also kind of matched in the narrow party room. The brightness of that room give ease to the narrowness. Adults will say that is small room but to children, does not matter. Correct, adults?
There is a window to the rink from the party room. They have all the needs for rinks like this one has including skate rental and snack bar. But they renovated big time in 2018.
The cleaness and fresh new set of colors really set this rink apart from the rinks of the past. Interior design, I give them A Plus on their efforts.
But I need to see the old rink appearance under old name. Anyone?
The Exterior.
It is a standard Flat roof Free-Span Steel Truss Cinderblock Warehouse- like Building. Originally two toned color building. In 2008, it appeared to be in Black trim on roofline as rest is Light Gray. But they painted entire facility in Light Gray with a slight Darker Gray on roofline While interior design is excellent, what they failed is exterior! All gray? Why not paint some similar colors as those interior exterior? Brightness and colorful are necessary for children related recreation center yet make it for all ages. Having gray and no windows.. Is that.. no offense, adult store? I know two adult stores are like that as I drive by. Very plain and hideous. Splash some colors on the building.
