Caln Roller Rink/Caln Skating Center 4533 Lincoln Hwy Downingtown, PA. Taken in 2019. Yes, they had that "island" in the front of the rink for children to play miniature golf. Never know one of them will become the next Tiger Woods. Source: Google.
Caln Roller Rink/Caln Skating Center 4533 Lincoln Hwy Downingtown, PA. This was taken in 1974 when they were about to open. You can find the clues to match with this photo and the next photo -- the twin doors in background are a match to each photo. They had Straight angled Fan layout of beautiful light colored Maple floor. Likely it was a Sugar Maple hardwood. That ceiling. I like it as it looked deeper at that place. And awesome to hold the Disco ball and Starburst lights. A common look in the 1970s at about every roller rink. Someone did use a blue ballpoint pen on the pic. Crazy. Right? I do not think I can remove it as it appeared difficult. Source: Caln Skating Center Facebook page.

Caln Roller Rink/Caln Skating Center 4533 Lincoln Hwy Downingtown, PA. Taken on 27th (?) of December 2021. The final photograph of the beautiful light colored Maple floor. Likely it was a Sugar Maple wood. They did renovated inside by removing those foam tiles on the ceiling and brought it higher. Many rinks like this one went industrial look during this Century. Real heartbreaking after Christmas and New Year's. Bad timing. Source: Caln Skating Center Facebook page.

Caln Skating Center was a roller rink at 4533 West Lincoln Hwy Downingtown, Pennsylvania was a roller rink but before that, it was Caln Roller Rink. But on the last day of 2021, 31 December 2020, I got report that it was not reopening ever again as a roller rink but an ice rink.
They originally opened as Caln Roller Rink in 1974 but closed in 2005. However, they had a reboot five years later as Caln Skating Center. Then another five years later, they closed. Unfortunately it is about to be converted to an ice rink as they announced on Facebook 31 December 2021.
Actually after the rink closed, it became Chester County Sports Arena that included the RollerCourt tiles on the floor for roller skating. That was removed too. It will be ice rink instead. Why need another ice rink that it is already over 8000 ice rinks now compared to only 700 something roller rink? Enough!
The Interior.
Caln Roller Rink: They had Red-Yellow-Blue Stripes on the White walls but I cannot tell what color was that carpet on the half-walls because the photograph color degrading and it was the color film of the 1970s. That "Brown tint" was common. I believe it was Kodak film. Anyway, it was very common appearance at the time. It had beautiful Straight angled Fan layout Hardwood Maple floor that was ample enough for skaters to skate in this Cinderblocks-Walled Warehouse like building.
Caln Skating Center: This concept during the 2010 to 2015 showed the popular colors of its decade. The trendy colors were Royal Blue with Snow-White colors and some of the walls had Aqua Blue or appeared closely to Indigo Blue. They all look and feel aquatic at that roller rink.

The Exterior.
Caln Roller Rink: I do not know what color they were.
Caln Skating Center: Likely they had that Royal Blue walls wrapped around on a beautiful park-like setting ground. It has a mini golf course in front of the building but there is a drive-through space though for cars to drop off passengers on passengers side that faces the front door. Google Map showed really nice.
