California Roller Rink, 511 South Oak Street, California, MO
The naming of the rink sounded bit confusing, right? I have to concur. California Skating Rink sounded like it belongs in California but the exception is that Missouri does have a town called California! Go figure! Kind of like Florida, New York which is a real town name in Orange County.. Oh wait a minute. Orange county? Both Florida and Orange county sounds like from Florida but Orange is also found in the suburb of Los Angeles, California!
I know it does sound confusion but to the residents, it is not because it is their way of life. California this or California that in that town. And hence, the California Roller Rink.
Unfortunately, not much ado with this rink because I only have two business profile websites mentioned the rink's name and when it was established. Both Dun and Bradstreet and the other, Manta. Both said they were established in 1973. That is all I have to add. No photos available.
When Googling, you will find a result with the rink's name and a red bar saying "Permanently closed."
The building itself may have been different because of the current building appears to be real small. It is attached to a two storeys brick building behind a gable building. I do not know the story of this rink at all and has no idea.
