Courtesy of USGS. This 2006 aerial photo showed where this huge entertainment center was held. You can see from top to bottom in the photo-- a supersized outdoor rink! No, that was a go-kart track, mini-golf, clubhouse and admission plus bathrooms, then that big building toward right center of the photo, that was the roller rink. The bottom 3 buildings on the left were something I do not know. I believe it part of the entertainment center. Boy, I wish it was an outdoor skating rink. Rink owners, are you getting my clue? Get your rinks be as big as this and start a rink like that and you will get thousands of skaters coming every night. Be creative! Can you tell the differences? Yes, there are. Between 2006 and 2008. Spot any changes!
Umm, which building was the rink? The window one or no windows? It is entirely different now with what you see on Google Map. From what I saw in USGS aerial photos, its the glass one. Now, I had to compare with that final photo above, it was the window building. That was newly built only to be torn down merely 7 years later? There ought be a law to wait 50 years for any buildings! Why tear down fairly new building for? Now its a hotel with their indoor water theme park. Really silly. Today is shown below.

C & D World on Wheels which was at Garden City Fun Center at 2880 E. Schulman Ave, Garden City, Kansas was a short lived skating rink with entertainment center. They had go-karts, miniature golf, as well as a skating rink. There were more but I could not find any more information and do not know what else they had there. Strangely for a place that was opened in 2010s and closed a few short years later, no information? Good thing for US Geography Society had those snapshots.
They showed when they were gone. In the 2014 photo from USGS, it showed they were gone. A new restaurant already built there, new hotel was being built, the rink building stood there. But likely gone along with the entertainment center.
So, likely it was operational from 2006 according to Manta and closed around 2012. Six short years. It is tough to operate such business in the 21st century unless you know how. I can tell with this beautiful looking place I can see on the map. I know those maps were not that fantastic because they are taken from their satellites.
Since they build in 2006, they closed in around 2013, they demolished it and made way for a new hotel with indoor water park that is sitting on the former roller rink. Bad idea. Why? It was just about 7 years old building they torn it down. Torn all down. Bad move. That is my opinion. Waste of earth and man made material. now are in the dump. There should be a law to make buildings stay for 50 years. No less except for fires or tornados or quakes or snow collapses.
I am sure the original Garden City Fun Center failed and so looked like someone else wanted to start again with a new complex immediately next door! It was proposed in 2015 and was still in planning stages by 2019. Google Map only showed as 2019 the newest photos. So, I have no idea if they are approved or not.
Please look here-- Sports of the World Center. It has every sports but NOT roller skating! That upsets you and I for sure. Right? Hey, ADD THE ROLLER SKATING RINK, DEVELOPERS! Will ya! The new proposed building would house football, basketball, volleyball, tennis.. but why not roller skating? Those sports injure MORE than roller skating! Writing is on the wall already, Sports of the World!
The Interior.
It must be a real cool interior because of much sunlight from outside in. It had huge glass windows on one side. Kind of like you would find at a 1950s - 1960s grocery store nearest you back then for some of you recalled. School gyms the same way (including my high school) It was designed give spacious feel in there. It apparently was a big rink by the look from outside because I have no interior for the rink.
The Exterior.
I could not see the front end in older photos but Google Map showed as more recently with the fitness center there now. It may have renovated completely up front. If not, that is what it was like. I am not sure.
