Google Maps. The former rink building in later years. Noticed something looks broken, yes, you can see on the wall above the 2nd window from the center where the doors are.
Broadway Roller Rink 1631 West Hill Street, Louisville, KY
Broadway Roller Rink was on 1631 West Hill Street, Louisville, KY was once a rink at that address when it was registered on May 9, 1975 and likely opened that Summer 1975 in that beautiful but sad brick building. It does need repairs at the moment as you can see in the photos.
It was operated by Juan Burns, Robert H Rice, and Tommie Burns Jr.
The date of unknown when they closed for good.
The most recent activity was on March 1, 2021 that the building was sold according to Loop Net. They were up for sale since 2016! 5 years of being on the market. That is not good but also sad no one bought it to reopen as a rink I am sure.
UPDATE! -- 19 April 2022.
Someone send me an email stating the address was wrong. That person said it was on 22nd and Broadway however, when I google mapped it, it was S 22nd St & W Broadway. However, according to Bizapedia, the address says 1631 West Hill Street, Louisville, KY. Anyone else can verify what correct address would be?
The Interior.
N/A.
The Exterior.
It was Steel Truss Brown Brick Bricks-Walled Store - like Building. I like the uniqueness for this building for a rink. It has that Brick veneer but the center of the front wall quite differ in style than the remaining of the frontage. It showed a post-Art-Deco 1940s/50s. This is an Art-Deco according to some real estate websites. Its the door Mantel that gave strong Art-Deco feel while the rest of the front is a carryover from bygone era of Bricks of 1840s to 1920s. This has to date in 1920s.
