This rink I am not sure which was official name because I got two of them-- the Bosa Nova and the Bosanova. It sounds Spanish and it is. For at least one word- Nova. Nova means "no go". Uh no. Someone made a mistake! However, Google said the word is Javanese. Really? But the word Bossa Nova is Brasilian or Brazilian - Bossa nova is a style of samba developed in the late 1950s and early 1960s in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is mainly characterized by a "different beat" that altered the harmonies with the introduction of unconventional chords and an innovative syncopation of traditional samba from a single rhythmic division (Wikipedia).
Also this was once Skateland which I believed was operational before it became Bosa Nova/Bosanova. I believe this was first because of this article about Fred Bergin, the operator of Skateland.
I also got it was as Bosa Nova instead of Bossa according to Google. Which one of you please stand up! This isn't the Lair's Club. Thank you! It is also spelled as Bossanova and Bosanova. Again, please help! Most I see it was Bosa Nova for this location.
So, let's stick with that one. It was a rink built in 1946 apparently opened that year till they closed in around 2003 if that is true. I can see they put it up for sale again because this time, a D-store occupied the majority of the building with next door space available. That space became a laundromat.

The Exterior.
Red Brick Arched-Curved building and it is built pretty close to the road that cars can park there. It had several small windows and a door on the side for entry. It likely had a sign posted just about above the door. I do not have photos of the old rink so its harder to know. It had that Arched-Curved ceiling which explains the free-span steel trusses in the building. Must be beautiful rink inside. It is a 20,000 SF building.
The Stats:
Rink Size: 18,000 SF Floor: Non-painted Floating Maple Wood. Floor Layout: N/A
Building Size: 20,000 SF Built: 1946 Demolished: Still standing. Now 2-businesses.
Type of Building: Free Span Steel Red Brick Segmental Arch Arena-like Building.
Roof: Segmental Arch
Acres: 0.6500 AC
Operated: 1946 to c. 2003.

Wikipedia - for the word Bossa Nova.
Fred Bergin - who purchased and operated and managed the rink. Fred owned quite a bit of rinks in other states including Ohio, Massachusetts, and other states. He was the pioneer in Roller Skating Music and Skating Organ music. He is in a couple of hall of fames. Please click to read more about him. He created more proper music for roller skating with the organ to go with the flow rather than how Big Bands or orchestra played. He was a conductor of big bands and orchestra. Funny, he is not in such hall of fame for that music especially the big one-- Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Just go shopping at the D-store. It would not be the same. You can photo outside but its nothing to see inside because it was totally renovated.

Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former.
As for “For Office Only” is for my reasoning and private legal reason for that.
