Benton Roller Skating Rink 4435 Red Rock Rd, Benton, PA. Many towns had dances like this that they teach you how to do a specific music dance and you have partner to practice this way. Been to those and was not much interested in it because it was not.. singles dances. Haha. Courtesy of The Morning Press 22 April 1970.

Benton Roller Skating Rink 4435 Red Rock Rd, Benton, Pennsylvania opened in 1965 by George and Alma Rolph however, George died suddenly in 1967. Alma operated until closing. It was put up for sale in 1969 and closed in 1970. But finally sold to new owner of the property and opened as Stan Berchik's Super Market in 1971. Then closed, then it is opened as Country Fresh Market.
Funny quote is this--
These days the only wheels rolling on the old wooden surface at Country Fresh Market in Benton are grocery cart ones.

The Interior.
It had Hardwood Maple floor with Step Log Cabin layout. It was still in use till 2022! The new owner replaced the floor. Apparently in my humble opinion, it could be new owner did not like the floor. Well, it is old! In 2022, that would be over 50 years WITHOUT any plastics on the floor. You know the Exopsy or Polyurethane coat. So, yeah, better replace. Spilled sodas, water, juice, and household chemicals on the floor plus cleaning agents on the floor done by staff and spillage by staff and customers. Made sense but where did the floor go?
I would be horrified that they would have thrown it out. Should have taken advantage to donate the floor for good purpose such as cutting into 4 square feet blocks for skaters to collect. I do would love to collect rink floors to use as a wall as a decor. All floors from everywhere. All would be hot stamped with names of rinks.. you get the idea.
The exact interior is unknown because the rest were grocery store. Modifications throughout the year made it difficult for me to see what it was like and share with you.
The Exterior.
Exact exterior look was unknown since grocery stores throughout the years changed its appearance. Currently has that front Awning similar somewhat like an old Kmart trademarked look. But for the rink? I do not know.

Dead Rinks is now International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© because many former names have become new names at the same rinks that are still active and due to much confusion, We have decided that International Roller Skating Rinks History Foundation© fits better for all rinks including defunct, closed, inactive, rebooted, and rinks that are still active today. For short on this site, it is International Roller Skating Rinks History© Bear with us as we change the entire site page by page each day. Thank you for understanding.
Second of all: The contents including words and photos above on this page and/or on any pages are purely educational entertainment purposes only. I provide what information from other websites, skaters, and operators and it may end up with different results between two (or more) sources. It is not our responsible for errors we caused. All sources are shown on each page. All opinions and statements of mine are also stated and are for purely educational entertainment only.
Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former. Since we are rebooted to allow alive rinks, active rinks, we welcome those active rinks as well. It will be described.
As for “For Office Only” is for my reasoning and private legal reason for that.
