Bedford Roll Arena Restaurant and Lodge 3667 US-220 BUS, Bedford, PA. Third known postcard. Looks like very early 1970s. Green! Green was very popular color in the 20th Century as Blue is to this 21st Century. Haha, my! That old anglog television! Everything green! Source: Cardcow.
Moon Glo II 3667 US-220 BUS, Bedford, PA. That was nice of Moon Glo II to keep Roll Arena sign on the wall. This rink deserves for most preserved artifacts from old rink. Source: Moon Glo II Facebook.
Moon Glo II 3667 US-220 BUS, Bedford, PA. Classic skating session light sign. They kept this sign since Roll Arena had them up. The wall was clearly built not too long ago. Source: Moon Glo II Facebook.

Bedford Roll Arena Restaurant and Lodge 3667 US-220 BUS, Bedford, PA. My goodness! That is terrible and sad to see this iconic sign ruined with signs. Never mind Stephanie's Styles. That is a hair salon. It has relocated to another area. Source: Google.

Bedford Roll Arena Restaurant and Lodge 3667 US-220 BUS, Bedford, Pennsylvania. This was a pioneer resort long before most hotels today has large convention centers, entertainment segments in their resorts. Resorts today are little sisters to the Mega Amusement park resorts that you all know from Orlando, Los Angeles, Vegas, Chicago, and many others. Google Map showed the photo of the number of the address as 3691 in large Black Bolt Block letters.
This resort including the rink was operated by C.W Moorehead and his sons.
There were several businesses in that location. Roll Arena was the rink there, Also Moorehead's Hotel and Restaurant was the name of it. It also had a gift shop.
Today, the rink is called Moon Glo II Skating Rink. It has become a plaza for this place. Several businesses. They have a newer sign replacing old neon lights 1950s style sign. However, they plastered over the original name. Someone who did this ruined it for us all. If anyone wants to buy it someday wants to restore will painstakingly have to take old signs off of the old neon sign and try to paint over like the original. Its ruined.
The Interior.
They had plastic floor according to the postcard. I believe that it was PVC flooring or polyvinyl flooring is none other than alternative terms for vinyl flooring! PVC stands for polyvinyl chloride, which is the material that makes up vinyl flooring. Thus, it is often shortened to polyvinyl flooring or simply, vinyl flooring, the most common term for this particular floor covering.

Moon Glo II Roller Rink: They upgraded the floor to Hardwood Maple floor with beautiful Polyurethane coat on.
The Exterior.
Bedford Roll Arena Restaurant and Lodge: It is very unusual for this kind of business. It is a combination of three major businesses at same location: A roller rink, a restaurant, and a hotel. Normally you have a hotel with a restaurant pretty much everywhere in the world. Some hotels would have rides and water parks. We all know that. They are called resorts. Well, this is a resort. One of the earliest modern resorts for Bedford Roll Arena Restaurant and Lodge. Clearly it was. The rink part is behind the hotel and restaurant which are in the front side of the rink. (see photo above).
They had Segmental Arch roof for the rink to be Free-Span Steel on Cinderblocks walled Arena like with Hip Roof two story hotel. They perhaps used the rink also as a convention center. A forerunner to a full-service hotels you see everywhere today. I would classified this rink-hotel-restaurant a pioneer in modern resorts.
The original was just 2 story building and the rink but then they expanded the hotel to add rooms on the right side as the rink on left side. It appeared more modern with Gable roof with several cupolas on the roof.
Moon Glo II Roller Rink: The exterior changed a little. I saw on Facebook that the windows were covered up. It did not really change much but the hotel and restaurant are both gone. Only a new management on the rink and name as well. The Motel became a plaza. They even blocked off on the right side of the property that you cannot drive on to because of American Legion prefer to seperate as a private property.
