Ballard Skating Rink Marble City Plaza, 1285 Talladega Hwy, Sylacauga, AL. Taken May 2015. Likely location of the former rink. Notice on the left side is small Gable building that dwarf itself is likely an ice cream stand. Likely location of the rink. The ice cream stand gave away its clue for me. Source: Google.

Ballard Skating Rink Marble City Plaza, 1285 Talladega Hwy, Sylacauga, AL
There was a conflicting with the location. Most links I found it said to be on 1285 Talladega Highway in Sylacauga, Alabama. The links said it was at Marble City Plaza but I could not find specific where that location was through Google Map because of the street name. Might be of same location. Then when I checked the address on Google Map. I get a back road behind the main road for that area which is South Broadway Avenue.
UPDATE-- Yes, that Marble City Plaza where that rink IS on 1285 Talladega Highway in Sylacauga, Alabama. A skate fan named M. H. emailed me today that it is the same and he got a photo he took TODAY prove where the rink was. He said the interior is all ripped out. Just remaining is the sign on the awning.
ON AL.com, it did show the old name for the South Broadway Avenue was, of course, Talladega Highway! We are onto something but not sure. Google Map has OLD Talladega Highway which is BEHIND Piggly Wiggly. So, likely its the road FRONT of Piggly Wiggly. The plaza is kitty corner from Piggly Wiggly.
All I know it was filed on June 13, 1986 and likely opened in late summer 1986 but only to close sometimes before 2007 because Google Map only can go that far back.
The Ballards operated the rink. Bufford L Ballard and his wife, Vicky B Ballard operated the rink. The rink was named after their last name. They also owned and operated Footloose Skate Center in Alexander City, Alabama.
The plaza even the name of the plaza still exist on Google Map. Just have to move down the road because the number is wrong although that is how they got their address according to the postal service.
I cannot say any further until I see photographs, information, and more.

The Exterior.
It was located in a plaza. It was the north end of the plaza. The plaza has 2 sections. West and North buildings. The North side of the plaza was likely the location of the rink.
It is a flat roof with Aluminum siding or steel siding canopy from end to end.
The Stats:
Rink Size: N/A. Floor: N/A. Floor Layout: N/A.
