Courtesy of GM. Now a treatment center. Very Art-Deco look in off white or very light grey.
Al-Du-Rena 236 Main Street, Longmont, CO
Al-Du-Rena roller rink was on 236 Main Street, Longmont, CO. It is a treatment center there now but it was spring 1970 that the couple, Delmar and JoAnn Jones opened their second rink after opening the first rink of their own, Roll-o-Rena rink because of JoAnn's father opened it and leased to Delmar. JoAnn's father who was a developer saw the opportunity to make money because it was very popular to skate back then when he took his daughter to the rink often.
The name of the rink is very unusual because it was a moniker to their two sons's first name- Al as in Allen and Du as in Duane. This rink opened after the family moved back to Longmont from another town. Apparently the first one he left after the leases expired or something. The article did not say anything though.
The Interior.
N/A
The Exterior.
Original appearance is unknown. But the building itself still seen on Google Map. It was very interesting design that still original there. Did they have original round/oval window? There is also an average size window near the three front doors. Currently looking Very Light Cold Grey #10. It is very much of an Art Deco look. The building may have been built in 1920s or 30s but the rink opened in 1970 till their retirement in 1986. Then the treatment center is there. From the look, it does look like a treatment center for those addictions or emotional/mental issues.
