Al and Karen owned Shadow Mountain Skate Center at one time on 2616 Greenway Road East where presently a school is now in Phoenix, AZ.
Not much information but it was filed on May 30, 1980. Then the rink was listed as Appointed on December 16, 1991. This might be when they closed for good. They ran for ten and a half years so they had a variant of names such as Al & Karen's Shadow Mountain Skate Center, A & K's Shadow Mountain Skate Center, and of course, Shadow Mountain Skate Center. That is not much differences. Just their names were added on.
The owners were Alfred Thompson from and Karen M Thompson. This is why their names were on the name of the rink. And the Shadow Mountain name was on it because there is a mountain named Shadow Mountain. It made sense because Shadow Mountain was also used for names of several other businesses in the area.
The Interior.
N/A.
The Exterior.
I do not have any photos but Google Map showed it is currently a school and renovated for the school. It has low-pitch Gable roof and likely Free-span steel truss cinder-block walled building. You would not be able to see the type of roof from the parking lot or even street because they have raised false walls wrapped around the roof.
Currently in Sand color. Original, I do not know unless someone have pictures of the rink back then. Remember that, they were appointed in 1991, before Google Map.

Operated: Filed on May 30, 1980; opened around June 1980 to 1999
