Aggie’s Great Eskate was at 5803 Coliseum Blvd, Alexandria, Louisiana since 1972. This was one of the few rinks with the name associated with Aggie's because it was in the families of Aggie's-- The Aguillards and the Ardoin. They
The other rinks they operated or opened or even managed were from 1952 on. The first one is unknown where according to the article in Daily Comet newspaper online. Alexandria, LA was the second in 1971. Then there this one. Third one was on March 8, 1998, another rink wsa opened in Houma, LA. Then there is
Aggie's is short for their last name, Augillard. That is understandable and makes lo perfect business sense to use that name. No wonder they are successful in running several rinks in Louisiana as well as in Texas. The rinks are in cities including Lafayette, Pineville and of course, Jennings. In fact, there are also two rinks in Texas that are owned by the family.
Later, the family incorporated this rink on April 29, 1986 according to Bizapedia. Wayne Aguillard registered that day. I have no closing date however, Google Map showed its a converted to a shopping plaza. Any photos? Anything?
