Adelphia Skating Rink 3913 Market Street, Philadelphia, PA. This 1950s photograph showed the rink on the left in then very old age arena-like building. Enitrely made with Dark Red Bricks. It does appeared to be late 19th Century or early 20th Centery building. Currently as an university apartment complex. Picture taken in 1956. Source: City of Philadephia, Department of Records.

Adelphia Skating Rink and the Waltz Skating Club were at 3913 Market Street in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They were operating for a time. It appeared to be 1930s to 1950s when this rink was operational. In fact Adelphia was also called Adelphia Sporting Club as seen in Billboard magazine on 08 May 1948, page 91, first column in an advertisement. See ad shown above.
The Interior.
Unknown but likely had Hardwood Maple floor, non painted. Some kind of coating. But unknown since there were no pictures to be seen at the moment.
The Exterior.
Truly classic turn of the Century building. It may have been a roller rink since its opening in the start of the 20th Century or even the building was built prior that start of the 20th Century. Anyone know more about this rink, please notify me. Thank you.
It appeared to be a classic Free-Span Steel Trusses Dark Red Bricks built arena style building. It was Gabled roof with monitor style over the rink but the other part of the building appeared to be flat-ish. The single photo is not enough to see that for sure.
It had a lot of windows.
It is beautifully designed and very orinate to the Eary 20th Century or late 19th Century. Architect is unknown and the style.. Might be Edwardian style. Very bright interior because of the large number of windows.
Of course, it was demolished and made way for a college campus student housing complex. A multi-story apartment complex.
