A skating rink Busti Street, Jamestown, NY
A skating rink Busti Street, Jamestown, New York was around in 1870s. That is all is known. Perhaps the first known roller rink in the area just before the Celeron Amusement Park opened 20 years later which included their own roller rink. See Celeron rink. This rink was located south of the town.
Looks like A. E. Allen was the operator of this rink.
This was one of the earliest roller rinks after James Plimpton began in late 1860s. This rink began in 1870s. I discovered this rink when I was looking for another rink in Ohio with a town similar name to the one in New York State that is near Jamestown. I had to make this profile now or forever I forget this listing above because that was rare.
The Interior.
Likely Maple wood floor. Likely Straight layout.
The Exterior.
From Google Map, the street appeared to be just outside of Jamestown. It is a country road so likely it was built on one of the property out in the country. This was quite rare to have a roller rink set outside of a in-town location like many other rinks of its day which usually were built IN the city. This is merely about eight years AFTER James Plimpton began the World's First roller rink.

Building Size: N/A. Built/Renovations: 1860s? 1870s?. Demolished: For sure it has since it is over 150 years ago this rink was operational.

Wanted: Information regarding exact dates of open/closed, why closed, size of rink, rink materials. Also photos/articles. Anyone knows or have photos, please let me know by emailing at [email protected]. Thank you.
