Courtesy of Tamara S in 2011. This is the location at Blue Springs. Nice half wall and was in Blue. Some hint of Green and White on walls. Even matching Blue and Orange lights to the Blue walls and paper plate as well as Orange cups. Very nice matching. Interesting it had lighted signs above the rink for skaters and attendees to notice. Look like something out of a bowling alley would have or airport would have. Rink Ratz has huge graffiti art work on there. Appears smaller than the Northland Rolladium.
Courtesy of Rink Time website. This is different Rolladium. Apparently same owner who owned the Blue Springs location. This is at Northland Rolladium. Same concept of rink location inside, same floor, and similar to Blue Springs is the lighted signs. But no 60s style lights and no US flag in between. I can even recognize two major brands on the signs. Advertisers. Can you name them?
Blue Springs Rolladium, 513 SW Keystone Dr., Blue Springs, MO
(Currently as Rink Ratz)
This was a roller rink in Blue Springs, MO. It is literally right next to a nice neighborhood if you were to check out on street level on Google Map. I am sure skaters actually have walked to the rink often.
This rink did not give much information before it was sold to Rink Ratz owner in August 2013. It was old according to a skater comment online however, I am sure it was renovated into a gangster look with the graffiti look for its logo and the interior as well. But is that a bit inviting trouble for that? Check them out online. Blue Springs Rolladium which is a catch on name for Roll-adium.. roller stadium. That is a new catchy word for it. I like that word. It was open in 1984. It lasted 29 years before Rink Ratz purchased it.
It was a warehouse look on the outside according to Google Map. Hard to tell with out the old name and old exterior. The Rink Ratz has the look of bit darker with the graffiti logo up front. Good thing not on the side or it would be eye sore for homeowners living on SW Joy Court. The side is facing a house on that street and another one right next to it. Pretty close to it.
Blue Springs Rollidium's history is unknown. When did they first open? They appeared to be open for long time because of the style of the building. The appearance has brick columns and where the front door is. But on the sides and walls up front shows Natural Cement Grey color. It was stuccoed on those walls.
Everything has been redone interior so I have no idea what it was like before it became Rink Ratz. Maybe ONE photo I was able to find without that art work. You will see the differences above in photos. I have two actually but which one is real one. The second one is without the flag and the oblonged globe lights as you can compare. The one with the flag and globe lights are found in Four Square website. This stated exact right rink. the other Rolladium I am referring is to Northland Rolladium which is still operational.
It had that nice Navy Blue with hint of Light Green. Some White with very simple graffiti on it. Very contemporary look the same with the exterior which has that 1980s look I described. It may have done an updated look between 80s and 2010s. Looks very 2000s. Unfortunately that is all I could find. I found more pictures but it was for a different rink with similar name. Wrong Rolladium.
