Rollermagic 40 Industry Lane, Waterbury, CT (not same rink as at 60 Harvester location)
5 D's Skating Center Inc. was first rink business before High Rollers then finally, Rollermagic at 40 Industry Lane, Waterbury, Connecticut. This location is not to be confused with the current running Rollermagic at 60 Harvester Road in the same town. Perhaps they had a franchise. I do not know that part.
UPDATE! -- 25 January 2021.
The rink was BEHIND that commercial building. Unfortunately I could not have Google Map take pic of that part you see in the photo above. It is at a Job Lot site.
5 D's or known as 5-D's Skating Center had a huge case. It is a public record that there was a lawsuit against that rink in Rahuba v. 5 D'S, Inc. This case involved with a beginner skater who had not much of an experience in roller skating and the husband/father who was a former tractor trailer driver who was just unemployed got injured at a dangerous spot by the snack bar whereas it was a defective carpetiles that were separated from the floor. It did not say the winner was but it sounded like the plaintiffs won over the defendant, the 5-D's Skating Center because of the language of the wavier and the wavier did not explain about the floor being defective or any of the rink's responsibilities such as defective floor. From what I read and understood, the language is very important to describe what should be said in waivers that skaters and any sport players or activities players want to play and had to sign to prevent a lawsuit.
Today at many rinks, skate parks, Skiing resorts, leagues such as softball, basketball, etc. All must have waivers these days.
And as for that case Rahuba V. 5 D's clearly stated that the rink owns the guilt because of the defective carpet tile and because they did not put up any warning signs of danger at that certain spot. But also the cashier at the admission failed to explain in full detail of the waivers. Sometimes it is best to make all read the statements before signing rather than just one line. You do not know what you are signing. This is why the lawsuit occurred because it failed to explain if anything defective at the facility IS the responsibility of the rink operator, not skaters. This case should re-write everyone's waivers for all rinks, amusement parks, ski resorts, ice rinks, skate parks, go-karts, physical sports (track, field, finesses), and ball sports. This should also prevent accidents such like that man at a Western NY amusement park that he flew out of his seat because of his disability.
Other than this lawsuit, I have no other information about the rink or any of the two other rink businesses at this location which lacks on the internet.
Today it is a store. Not a one-stop career center. I know the name sounds confusing.
It appeared to be small rink because of the size of the building.
I believe High Rollers came around first then in 1993, Rollermagic because of 5-D's was around in 1999 and the lawsuit decision in 2004. The lawsuit really nailed down the coffin and closed the rink.
A fan on George's list explained well.--
It has a very large snack bar/video game area and a smallish rink.
A DJ takes requests all night long. The DJ played a lot of rap, R&B and dance music, much to the pleasure of a GREAT group of dancers on the sidelines. It seemed to be a teenage crowd, with the occasional adult, but the skill level was fairly good, so there wasn't a lot of thrashing about or falling.
The rink surface is wood, but it appears to have been built on top of a very solid surface, which seems like concrete. It is marvelous!! The small size means there is constantly a turn to be made, but it is indeed a real p[l]easure to keep turning on that great rink surface. The middle seems to be reserved for the better skaters who are trying out their trick moves.
Sounds like this rink's market for jam skating.
From a skater who skated there --
I'm [name removed for protection] from Connecticut! …regarding 40 Industry Land, Waterbury, CT- 5D's Skating Center Inc. I use to basically be there every Friday and Saturday night back in 2003-2005! Well anyways they closed their doors forever at the very end of December 2006, I am 100% sure because I lived in Waterbury then, also I went to fill out a job application [in] December 2006 and they said there not hiring because they were closing! It broke my heart! It was a average size rink, small pro shop, small refreshments, the party rooms, but plenty tables and seating!
UPDATE! -- 23 June 2022.
I received an email from someone who confirmed the 25 January 2021 email update I received (please read last paragraph). This one from L.F. who wrote to me.
That person is right it didn't open for the year 2007. I actually lived in Waterbury too during that time and tried to fill out an application there and they said there was no point because they were closing I was 17! I was basically there every Friday and Saturday night on and off from 2003 to 2004! I love this your website, btw! I'm really grateful for it! Thank you! (I am unable to copy and paste symbols she had on the email. She had icons of a skate, a disco dancer, a heart, a 4-clover leaf, and a smiley face.)
Thank you so much L.H! You too get a skate, a couple dancing, a heart, a red rose, and a smiley face. Yes! I take you out on the floor to couple skate with you after I give you a red rose! Wink.

Only thing I can find out about this rink was through that lawsuit. It clearly did state the roller floor had Concrete floor and the carpet was carpetiles. It has a very large snack bar/video game area and a smallish rink.

Rinks that are closed are considered dead. Rinks that are/were sold and with new management names new name(s), the former are considered dead. Previous operating rink that closed but came back years later, are considered dead because the reopening is considered rebooted, nothing to do with the former.
As for “For Office Only” is for my reasoning and private legal reason for that.
