180 Skate Shop & Park 6179 Highway 278 NE, Covington, GA
180 Skate Shop & Park was more of a skate park rather than a rink but basically had skates and skaters would use such skate park to skate or to jam as well.
I do not have dates at all. A skater said it was running between 2003 and 2005/6.
But I have seen evolution of business in the same spot. Later, it became Fred's Dollar Store (a D-store or more of a B-store which is a Bargain store. Well, Fred is gone. Apparently I see hardly any cars in the parking lot for Fred's. I like Fred's logo but the name..
Then Fred's closed up and part of that place, a trampoline place called Boost Trampoline Park - Covington. Today many skating as entertainment are being replaced with trampolines.
I see on Google images that Boost Trampoline Park have Dodgeball which I personally not like that kind of sports. Many schools and states have outlawed or ban Dodgeball due to the subject of bullying and injuries as intentional rather than just "fun" It is a mockery with balls thrown by players or even bullies to hurt weaker ones. I was a geek, a nerd in school who was very skinny in school and they had a dodge ball during Physical Education and the boys would throw it directly to me intentionally! Not others, but me! I got hurt. I even have hearing aid on. Come on! I told them not to do that and I think the school did stop that after that incident and also banned kickball. Thanks to my mom who was on parents-school board of directors. This was in 1970s.
Well, let's get back to skating. Not much I can tell. No information. It was in a shopping plaza with a U-shaped configuration.
On the ligher side, there is a Billiard hall cross the parking lot in the same shopping plaza.
I am not sure but it kept pointing to that address when I googled the address. It could also be where the self-stored storage center now.
